Default Which men's fragrances would smell good for a woman?

Hello everyone, Zhang Fan here again with a simple question: which men's fragrances would smell good for a woman? And how about these?

Hmmm -- not sure about Encre Noire, but the other 2 would work well on a woman

I think Bel Ami is a good crossover fragrance --- in fact, I like smelling leather on a woman

It think many mens modern designer colognes and perfumes can be can easily be worn by women. They are really so unisex now, sometimes even leaning feminine that it is just a matter of what type of scent she likes. In fact maybe to avoid the often overly and sickly sweet modern womens perfumes, more women should go for mens fragrances.

    Yeah -- why not?

For me though, a fragrance like Polo wouldn't work so well on a woman

If a woman thinks it smells good on her, then it will work.

As I mentioned in the compliment thread, a girl I work with told me I smelled good and wanted to wear the same thing on herself. It was Month Blanc Explorer.

The unlikeliest male fragrance so far that smelled great on ladies and more than one, was the hyper-masculine beast mode powerhouse Antaeus, although perhaps due toe fact of being in a version that although still distinctively masculine was already a newer one, with its projection toned down and perhaps in part explainable why its effect was less jarring and more fascinatingly complex, stylish, uncommonly beautiful.

Male fragrances that embrace their sweetness and proudly highlight this rather than suppressing this kind of note (s) and/or development - either in a floral sense like Grey Flannel or in vanillic near gourmand fresh casual style like Blue Jeans - were effortlessly even more versatile on wearers of either gender, at least based on experiences so far.

Absolutely. I'm male and I have this but it always strikes me as completely unisex. This fragrance has a very "earth-y" feel to it, I think the overall affect is like sniffing the dirt in a flower-pot immediately after a flower has been uprooted from it. So it may appeal to sporty or outdoors-y women more than the urban woman or the sophisticate. But that just might be my own biases about women's tastes... only each individual can say for herself. I would mark this down as a unisex not a masculine fragrance.

I've been sporting D&G The One for Men lately and every time I wear it, it strikes me how much the DNA of this perfume is clearly a feminine perfume (The One), but which has been subtly "strengthened" with sophisticated woods to give it a masculine touch. But the beauty of the perfume comes from its DNA. I would categorize D&G The One for Men as barely a masculine scent. It's almost completely unisex. I could easily see a woman pulling this off, especially if she has a very strong and outgoing personality (the scent would fit her outgoing nature, IMO). Best for formal or special occasions, IMO.

Colonia Intensa is being heavily used from my best half and smells fantastic on her too.
    Cuiron would be another candidate.

I have to disagree with Russel about Kouros -- that one just screams "male" to me. But I do wear Quorum sometimes.

Also, all the Eau Sauvages, as has been suggested. After all, it's just a big brother of Diorella. And in the same citrusy vein, Chanel pour Monsieur.

I personally think ALL the Declaration varieties are great for women. Also, almost all vetivers are great on women, particularly Guerlain's.

All depends on how much you like to wear it, of course. Women aren't all the same (hence my slightly tongue in cheek post).

I was slightly taken aback some years ago when my woman wore a rather masculine/herbal smelling unisex (she didn't like it much) but frankly I think it was just as it was unexpected and seemed a bit unusual. You'd quickly get used to it like any other fragrance. A hot woman wearing Kouros, think Red Sonja from the Conan movies (just how I like to imagine Kouros wearing women ), sounds pretty good to me.

I find the question what men's/women's fragrances can be worn by women/men always a bit odd as the answer is obviously all of them. You may end up smelling like a teenage girl but that doesn't mean you can't wear it if you enjoy it. Guess it's just a way of trying to find fragrances that smell more unisex.
