Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Sleepy morning here, I went to bed late (and it was an intensely busy day at work + at Cross Fit) so I'm still waking up.

Wearing this, from my brand new bottle:

    Aramis Special Blend by Aramis

Rainy here also - but very humid still. I would love to get some more cooler weather here - for now I'm sure the tourists are enjoying it a lot.

Happy Saturday all. I’m in Silk, Lace and Chocolate by 4160 Tuesdays today. Finished my sample. In homage to the house I got out my calculator and it looks like I’ve already lived approximately 3040 Tuesdays. Wow! Time really does fly. So I've made a resolution is to be more mindful of the present!

Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle -- just because I felt like getting far outside my usual wheelhouse, and because my boss gave me a 5-bottle coffret of Malles for Christmas.

Maurice Roucel's scents always seem to be laughing at themselves a little bit. This one says "Yes, I'm hot, sweet, dirty and a bit vulgar. So what? Enjoy a little trashiness for a while!"

    Nice boss.

Rain (rain!?) for a quiet Saturday. Jicky edt is hitting the spot. Venison ribs and keto cheddar biscuits slated for lunch. Maybe a glass o' wine. And then it's an afternoon of sci fi. I like our rituals.

Not my cuppa. Feels like I'm wearing a costume. Or like I should put on some red lipstick and go pick up a stranger in a hotel bar.

l'd love a boss like yours!

After eleven hours of sleep, a quick tidy-up of the Christmas debris & a shower, l'm finally dressed & scented in Black Flower Mexican Vanilla.

I'm sampling Hyrax this morning. The atomizer dribbled a little bit on my wrist and now about 15 minutes in, I'm glad I didn't use my usual 5-6 sprays. It's warm and animalic, with a little bit of burnt plastic. I don't think I'd wear it on its own, but to dirty up some other fragrance? Yes.
If you can't smell me from six feet away, I'm not wearing enough.

Wanted to compare EDP version of Mon Guerlain with the Intense version so I wore both.

    Hello all,

I’m wearing Kerosene Copper Skies, acquired at Merz during the Chicago meetup. It’s quite nice and I like its Detroit automotive inspired bottle.

I just got back from LA and it’s sad see the snow already melting on the coastal foothills. But, we did have a white Christmas this year.

    Have a good day.

Trilby Lark, my first impression was that the Intense version is smoother & the notes are more balanced overall. I love the addition of the patchouli and the added rose & iris notes seem to blend more with the lavender so I found the lavender doesn't stand out as much in the intense version. The sharpness in the EDP matches our low humidity, dry heat summers & the stronger lavender note in the EDP is great in the heat, too. I didn't like wearing the EDP in our cooler months, the sharpness amplified too much on me when it was cold. Time will tell, but I think the Intense version will be more of an all year round scent and the EDP will be just for summer, maybe autumn if we have any Indian summer weather.

Thank you, CuddleCat! What month does your summer typically end? In Southern California, our hot summer weather can last six months, well into November. Summer is then followed by 3-4 weeks of autumn weather, then on to a mild winter.

My bottle of Mon Guerlain Intense just arrived! But I’m currently wearing Amouage Portrayal woman, so will test it tomorrow. My first impressions correlate very well with yours Cuddle Cat, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Stay warm ineespenes! You smell wonderful, I love Mandarine Mandarin.
