    Eau de Toilette

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Hello!
I really didn't want to wake up and go to work today. I got used to sleep for 10 hours every night through the holiday week, and coming back to normal routine feels painful. But I'll manage! I'm wearing Pink Grapefruit by The Body Shop, it's simple, juicy, fresh and pleasantly sour.

Hello and best to everyone. (((((Ine, Caz, Quarry, Teardrop))))), thank you all for your kind words. I am beyond fortunate in the friends I have. It never occurred to any of us, as raw high school freshmen, that we would be together all these decades later, having watched each other build families and careers, celebrating the good times and helping each other over the bad.

SOTD is Lancome Jasmins Marzipane. Take care, all.

    Prada, Prada L'Homme

This morning I feel like someone who is attuned to the art of knowing how to choose expensive soap. Left to my own devices I’d struggle in a retail setting and find perfumery altogether easier than soap, thus limiting my experiences to pre-chosen soaps found in my hotel rooms. Being that I attach the memory of luxurious soap to stays in nice hotels, and being that I am still away from home for my Christmas/NY’s holiday, this selection today feels apropos.

    This is nice soap.

Plumeria de Orris by Areej le Dore

One of the most recent Areej le Dore releases that, upon sampling it, smelled intensely powdery. So I'm still trying to find out what this one is saying to me...through the fog of powder. In the meantime it makes a great bedtime 'smell' and it lingers on into the next day. There is a faint whiff of apricot or some sort of gentle fruit smell, that is very pleasing.

Had a VERY rough time getting up this morning. New house...smoke detector issues. I had to unplug them all at 2am. Woke up to the one I forgot about in the basement going off this morning as well. Water was leaking through the detector...and nowhere else which is weird. I'm reading it probably has to do with attic moisture and ventilation. Meanwhile everyone that we're trying to contact from our builder seems to be on holiday break. Unfortunately for me...I'm not on break and I'm tired and cranky today.

Wearing He Wood Ocean Wet Wood today because I just grabbed whatever I could find out of my moving box of perfume this morning.

The sale of our condo is pushed back for a 4th time...supposed to (hopefully) finally close tomorrow. Fingers and toes are crossed.

I was premature in my celebration of putting my computer back together yesterday. Actually I have two sets of speakers and neither of them are working with the new processor. It's pretty quiet around here. I have a running joke with my friends about my ongoing troubles with technology. On Christmas Day I showed my sister my fairly new cellphone, how it hadn't worked in weeks and was completely dead. She took the phone, turned it on, and it was fine.

The weather here is so weird that I don't really know what to wear. Not only unseasonably warm at ~70F/23C, but even weirder is that it's been almost the same temperature at midnight as it is at noon. Feels like the kind of weather when something terrible might happen.
