I own the Parfums Corp. and owned the Gucci but the difference was huge! The Gucci one hardly had (if not) any civet and smelled really tame while the Parfums Corp. smells like the real Kouros but made fresh with pineapple and ginger added. Sold my Gucci version as it smelled almost like my Lapidus Pour Homme Sport

To me this looks like a 100% Charles of the Ritz bottle? What can make this a Parfums Corp. bottle? I know the batch-codes are not always to be trusted!
Not that it matters much as the first 2 Kouros formulations are imo almost identical.

Let's start with the ones that can't really be called vintage yet. I found a little perfumery in my city that still stocks some 8+ years old fragrances. Not the ones I've been hoping for (like Rive Gauche or one of the astronomically priced older Guccis), unfortunately, but three caught my attention and I bought them. The first one I found favourably mentioned here and elsewhere on the net - Uomo by Krizia, 100 ml from the mid-2000s (no picture) - turned out not to be my kind of scent. It reminds me a lot of the characteristically sharp notes I get from Lauders and Aramis', like vintage Alliage and Devin.
The second one's still around, L'Homme by Versace. This is a 100 ml bottle from around 2010, still listing oakmoss among the ingredients. It's a soapy citrus with a woody base. I usually like citrus and woods, but this one (though better than Uomo by Krizia) isn't overly attractive to me.
The third is easily the best out of the three: The now discontinued Pour Homme by Van Cleef & Arpels, soapy and woody as well, but in a much more interesting way than the Versace. This is a scent I can see myself wearing from time to time.

I got some true vintages, too, as you can see in the other two pictures. First, a ca. 8 ml miniature of Jules by Dior, which I quite enjoy, even though it's heavy on what I think is calone, the otherworldliness of which somehow bothers me (it reminds me of the ocean and freshly washed women's hair, maybe it used to be part of some shampoo) [PS. OK, so I don't know what it is. Calone doesn't quite fit the timeline unless Jules was reformulated in the 90s and that's what's in my mini. The description of calone fits the bill though. I get the same weird fresh note in Ocean Rain, my 90s version of Acqua di Parma and perhaps Diorella. Maybe it's a chord, not a note. Costus is supposed to evoke wet hair, so I'm going to get some of the root on monday to check.]
Second, 12 minis, 4 ml each, of Chanel' Antaeus that I got for a price that would have been acceptable for a 50 ml bottle as well. I had high hopes for this one as it's frequently mentioned here, but having tried it I'm sorry to say that I don't really get the love. It did not develop well when I dabbed it on my forearm. I then put the contents of one of the minis into a pocket atomizer, as you can see in the picture. This improved things - sprayed thinly on clothing it smells... OK. I'm going to have to give it some more time. It wouldn't be the first time that I completely changed my mind on a fragrance after having gotten to know it better.

And the best for last: I got the chance to back up my beloved Gentleman by Givenchy. It's a 100 ml tester, as good as full, from 1991 if the batch code checker I used is correct. Not quite as old or as good as the 60 ml bottle from the 80s I already have, but still great. The seller also had a Pour Homme by Moschino (sadly missing some of the original 100 ml and the cap), which I've found praised here by I think bavard among others, so I took that one, too. The scent surprised me, herbal and resinous, but not your classic 80s/90s men's fragrance. I'll have to give this one more time as well, as I only just picked it up today, but this much I can say already: it's good stuff.
First of all congratz on all these nice acquisitions, especially VC&APH and Antaeus!
I got myself also recently a 100ml back up of the leaf pattern VCAPH box as I love the stuff!
Regarding the Antaeus; I recently bought two 80's bottles; one 80ml filled spray bottle with the old silver plated cap and one 50/100ml splash bottle.
The differences are huge imo! The splash one goes immediately to the far base of the spray one, smelling within 15 mins (it starts with a slight off note which fortunately disappears quickly so that must be because it is a splash and sometimes was let opened too long last 35+ years?!) like a mossy-beeswax drydown with moderate projection. The fresh opening and middle phase is not there anymore and is in a way skipped. It smells really good but again only mossy-woody beeswax is all I get.
The silver plated cap spray version, on the other hand, smells like new and let you experience all phases of the vintage Anteus! The fresh opening, the leathery-woody castoreum middle phase and the slightly sweet beeswax drydown after 6-7 hrs which smells way louder and fresher than the splash version.
If you can get an old spray bottle; plz go for it; it can be heaven!
    My Top '11':

    - Paco Rabanne: Pour Homme (vtg)
    - Antaeus (vtg)
    - Azzaro: Pour Homme (vtg)
    - Armani: AdG Profumo
    - Jacques Bogart: Furyo
    - Guerlain: Héritage (vtg)
    - Thierry Mugler: A*men
    - SA: Al Basel
    - D&G: Pour Homme (vtg)
    - YSL: Kouros (vtg)
    - VC&A: Pour Homme

    Hello everyone!
I am still somewhat new to the world of fragrance and to basenotes, but I feel the need to share my joy for my newest find.
Yesterday evening I bought a vintage diorella on ebay! It was a spontaneous purchase and I hope, that I didn't pay to much for it, but the price seemed right and the perfume comes with its box.
I am not entirely sure how old it actually is, but it's in a longish, ribbed bottle with a blue (turquoise) plastic cap. Apparently the perfume was part of the perfume collection of the sellers mum, there even were some kitschy knickknacks in the background of the pictures that reminded me a lot of my granny... :'(
I will look for a batch code as soon as possible.
I can't wait for it to arrive!
Have a great weekend! Greetings from Germany!

A vintage Diorella spray is exciting! I'll be curious if you get a fruit note from it.

    Beautiful classic Guerlain flacon.

What is Guerlain L'Heure Bleue like? I own vintage (50s/60s) Shalimar and Mitsouko and am always looking for the next vintage Guerlain!

    Thx.

Thanks! I'm not up to describing it, HabibiGotIt, as I've only smelled it a few times on my wife. I would suggest checking the BN reviews to get some idea.

That's some fine juice. I tried the extrait from the late 60s and it changed my perspective of L'Heure Bleue.

From the picture of the Vent Vert, it looks like we may have bought it from the same vendor.

I’m sure you’re right about the Vent Vert. In fact, all if these are from the same vendor. The d’Auvillers is the wild card: I had been looking for the better-known Cuirasse when this popped up, so I took a chance. I’ll let you know what I think when I get around to wearing it.

Ah! Well, I imagine this will be more Mrs. S.’ bottle than mine, but we have carte blanche to raid each other’s collections, so long as we don’t abuse the dwindling rarities.

Technically not yet vintage, but discontinued and commanding silly prices.
I had a sample of this some years ago and quite liked it.
I'd never pay what's now being asked but I purchased this never-sprayed 100ml and 50ml after shave balm gift set for a song.

    My vintage Diorella arrived today!
I can't really date it, but it seems to be somewhat old.
The box still has the old Christian Dior address printed on it and has no Barcode and no estimated sign.
the batch code has five digits.

My camera isn't great, so the picture didn't turn out that good.
I will spend the afternoon sniffing Diorella!

I'm so suggestable. After seeing drseid's SOTD and reading "Lucifer opens with a ton of oakmoss and smooth patchouli, melding with a dry tobacco leaf accord not unlike the one used in Havana and Montana Red Box.", from the only review about it written by drseid, I went looking for this one.
