Arden Men Sandalwood I owned a long time ago (US made), but I swapped it with another Basenoter. Lately I've missed it alot, so got this french-made one which I'm looking forward to. Don't know if it's any different from the US one.

All chrome shoulders of Kouros are imo excellent!
Regarding wearabilty/versatility the Gucci and Sanofi bottles are maybe even better compared to the Paris & Parfums Corp. ones as they lack the massive dose of civet.

No way!! That's real patina and something to treasure as part of the bottle. It might be more appropriate for a more valuable fragrance, but it's cool for a Z-14 bottle.

In a nutshell, great! Very much of its time with a boat load of oakmoss, lavender and leather. Not particularly strong but that’s fine by me and this 100ish mL will last me a good long while.
I might give it a more solid wearing tomorrow, but I have loved it tonight. very pleased with it for £45.
For reference, I have zero idea how old this is. It has a very short ingredients list and no barcode or obvious batch code.

Just received this one yesterday. A bit of a disappointed in my initial test because it's redundant to others I have and it's so short-lived.

Chypre EdC by Novaya Zarya/Brocard (1921). This version for the russian market has very short ingredients-list (6) with Evernia Prunastri at number 3 after alcohol, water and fragrance.

My recent order of a 60's vintage Bal a Versailles Parfum de Toilette came today! 75 ml of this glorious stuff! It was sealed and preserved so well. I took about 30 minutes carefully undoing the stopper and protective skin, and to my surprise the top notes are intact in all their glory. In natural light it looks more yellow than in these pics, which made me think it was a factice at first, but boy oh boy was I wrong! For any BaV fans out there, specifically only the 60's form of BaV parfum de toilette has the little message of "The companion fragrance to Bal à Versailles perfume" on the inner box. I was really thinking of making a thread sometime to try and demystify the various differences of BaV presentations throughout the decades, in honour of MdM. I also adore the thoughtfulness of padding on the inside of the box to keep the flacon safe

It makes me wonder if these vintage soap bars are worth pursuing as a side project to fragrances.

It looks like you had good luck finding a new one. The power of focus can bring the liquid level down in a bottle - it sounds like good work from Rick. Do you both like splashes just fine compared to sprays?

It sounds as good as it looks. Every time I wear Bal a Versailles, I like it, but I just have a mini. These all-white boxes look promising.
