Yes, I noticed that. He’s one perfumeur whose talent and style often crosses over when he does work for other brands (like when he did Carven L’Eau Intense, one of my favorite fragrances). Ever since Sycomore and Givenchy Vetyver were reformulated for the worse, I haven’t been able to find that stellar Vetiver for my wardrobe. I like Encre Noire and Guerlain, but they’re not at the level of these other two before their reformulation. I’m hoping the Elie Saab will be a step up.

I was also happy to see that it’s reasonably priced at $75. I was expecting double that.

    WOW...BIG EDIT!!!!

It's all of those kind of.

What I remember about RT is that it opens with with a very fresh spearmint note over black tea and there's this very interesting contrast of fresh and bright against dark and earthy. But there's also a raspberry note that works its way in there somehow (I think it comes out more in the mid but can't quite remember) and a very dark, smoky leather. It doesn't smell like Tuscan Leather at all, despite the raspberry/leather combo, they're done very differently. I seem to remember the raspberry being much more tart, and more subtle than in TL. The only time I've smelled a similar spearmint (to some degree) is in Lush Breath of God, the way it's set against much darker notes, it has a similar effect (although I prefer how it comes across in RT more than BOG). Anyway, it's a really interesting fragrance, and I wish it resonated more with me because it's unique and sort of artsy but nice and wearable as well. I think you'll enjoy it.

I THOUGHT YOU BOUGHT "RUSSIAN TEA" AND WERE ASKING HOW IT IS? Hahah....I didn't realize that you were asking "The Russian" how Elie Saab Vetiver is.

So the description above is for Masque Milano Russian Tea. I've never tried the Elie Saab. BIG MISUNDERSTANDING!!!

*Note: This is not the regular HM edt. It's a bizarre flanker called "Eau Fraiche." I've never seen this one before.

Encouraged by "the Russian's" purchase yesterday:

So the last Cool Water I bought, they sent me the incorrect one. I wanted a vintage (OG or Lancaster), but they sent an older Coty.

This time, it's Lancaster for sure, lol. Two sets including 2.5oz sprays. Finally!

And what the heck, I went for an Elie Saab Essence N°6 : Vetiver as well. Enablers!

So today my vintage bottle of Fico di Amalfi arrived. I tried to spray her with it, and she semi-reluctantly let me. But she loves it.

So I scoured some more and came across a super ugly bottle of vintage for a cheap price and bought that. I can leave that one out where it's accessible for both of us and she can spray it whenever she pleases, .
