It's a lemony aromatic floral that share similarities to Jicky thanks to the lavender. Personally I prefer Jicky, the opening in Mouchoir de Monsieur can be a bit challenging at times.

    Thanks; and thanks!

I agree with the similarities to Jicky - imagine Jicky with more lavender in the opening and less vanilla in the base. However, I don't get a lemony aspect. And oddly enough, I don't find it to be a challenging opening, nor challenging wear - and generally speaking, I'm one that is not a fan of heavy animalic, indolic, funky, etc. notes. I find it to be smoooooooooth and dare I say, "sauve". I totally dig it! This is one of my favorites for spring and early summer.

Mouchoir de Monsieur - recent bottle

Soapy-fresh-musky-minty lavender. Less natural but more durable and satisfying than the older stuff.

    Escada Pour Homme.
My maiden wear with this after picking up as a blind buy. Sweet and liquor, without being sickly. Has some definite classiness to it and would suit a suit.

    KOUROS

I have a bottle of the new version and find it to be pretty good. But today I decided to re-visit the old stuff. When it first launched, I did not care for it at all - and I mean not at all - LOL. However, I have a 5ml atomizer sample of the Parfums Corp. version and am throwing caution to the wind and giving it a full run today.

There is an older version though which is called Van Gils Classic (same but stronger juice) and is all black (or black cap at least), which can be called vintage (on Fragrantica they are both mentioned separately but funny enough they do not show the all black bottle at the Van Gils Classic page which is imo older than the only black cap one!)

    Vintage:
