Hadn't worn this for several years. I had some fun today finding interesting spots to shoot.

It seems a bit like Amélie’s garden gnome. (My wife took her USC garden gnome on a European tour, much to the chagrin of the security guards in countless museums and shops who were arm-twisted into posing with it for photos.)

I see what you mean. These photos were shot in spots around the neighborhood using a cell phone camera. Depth of field is too shallow in the pic with the cherry trees, which is a bit of a shame. I don't know if the camera app has a "manual" mode.

I haven't seen Amélie, but I do remember a much-reported incident of a garden gnome having been stolen and later returned with a photo album documenting the gnome's worldwide adventure. That was maybe 10 years ago. I bet your wife had a lot of fun with her project.

Well, mid-project, the gnome fell and broke his foot. So, he had to go to the gnome repair shop.

    Pretty much.
We didn't go all-out and sit under the trees eating and drinking like we normally would.
It's comforting to see the trees quietly doing their thing amidst the human folly.

Excellent pics, sir. My phone does same. Kind of a portrait mode. Beautiful trees, though (the car is okay too). You can try to increase distance between you and the object, getting full focus, and then zoom in? No matter what, I dig your photos.

Looks like I need to get out the old silverware polish.....hmmm, maybe not, the oxidation adds to the vintage effect (he rationalizes).

Wife enters the room: "It's plastic, you moron!"

"Thanks, Honey......do we have any plasticware polish?"

Durtal, get in there! Welcome. This thread has been on the active side. I was scrolling up for a while until I saw your inaugural post of the coveted Gucci Pour Homme 2003. Nice one.

This is my pick for the mossy ones. You could be too close to it to see how good it is. Changing cars in the background is a huge opportunity. Or that same Porsche every time would work, too.

Thanks. I think you're right, shooting farther back from the bottle might have put the trees in better focus. I like some blur, but I would have liked more detail in the trees here.
For the photo with the 911, the thing that first caught my eye was actually the moss growing near the edge of the parking lot. Then I noticed the car.

I really enjoyed it. At least one other member posted it in this thread recently, which was the reminder I needed.

As I was saying to Marand75, the moss was what drew my attention. The Porsche was a plus.
    Here's a different edit.

And with that, I will self-quarantine from the thread until further notice.

Oh yes, the moss indeed. In fact, this edit draws the attention to it, and then the background secondly. Well done!
