    Default Cheapies for the Office?

    Hey,

Hope everyone had a good weekend

Next month I’ll be moving into a new career and having to share an office (50 or so people) currently I wear very loud fragrances for work but moving forward into a shared environment these are probably not going to work. Ideally I’d like to grab a few “cheapies” that will be good for office wear, I still want the fragrances to have presence to a degree but stuff that will be a little more subtle and generally crowd pleasing.

I’ll probably be looking to pick up 3-5 fragrances in total to offer a reasonable rotation, the office tends to be suits/shirts from Monday - Thursday and then more casual on Fridays. I have around £100-£120 to spend so I’m going to have to be very frugal in my choices.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I should be looking at?

    Thanks

If not already included in your current fragrance collection:

Mugler Cologne and Caron pour un Homme offer good performance and office/work wear versatility at affordable prices, but also without smelling cheap

One that comes to mind would be Terre d'Hermes.

Any of the new rereleases of the old Aramis classics like Havana, Devin, Tuscany, New West, or Aramis 900, could be one of them. You're looking at about 20 for a full bottle. That could be the "classic".

Two other recommendations, showing up cheap at discounters, and good for the office, both around 20 dollars here

Perry Ellis (2018) - aromatic clear cool citrus that resembles Bleu de Chanel aftershave lotion

Zegna Uomo - violet leaf citrus clear aquatic with good projection and persistence

Mugler Cologne works well as mentioned before, also look at Le Vetiver by Carven for a cheaper alternative to Guerlain or Grey Vetiver.

If I was keeping to a 150 GBP budget and looking to plan from late winter to end of spring (perhaps getting to summer depending on how heavy you are on the trigger):

Montblanc Legend (Could easily be swapped for Starwalker or Individuel)
    Dunhill Icon
    Vera Wang for Men
    Terre d’Hermes EDT
    Kiton Men

That set up should keep you within budget if you look on discounter sites and google for codes.

You could swap any of those for Mugler Cologne, Guerlain Vetiver or Homme L’eau Boisee if they suit you more.

If you're in the UK, allbeauty currently have a Guerlain brand event. +1 Guerlain Vetiver or L'Homme L'Eau Boisee, depending on your tastes.

+1 for the Mugler Cologne or the Caron PuH

+1 for the Aramis range (my preference would be for Tuscany; ymmv)

Depending on how formal your office, Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet or Sartorial might suit. (allbeauty usually discounts, and check whether Pens are still having a sale). Best of luck in your new post.

Several of the D&G. The One, K, or Light Blue would work.
Or YSL L'Homme EDT or LaNuit.
The Prada suggestions are even better, with Luna Rossa or Luna Rossa Sport, or Prada L'Homme.

5 Great Cheapies for the Office

Lalique Hommage a L'Homme: Reserved, but present powdery combination of saffron, violet, and oud. Completely original, with an intellectual, reposed feel.

Caron Pour Un Homme: Low-key combo of lavender and vanilla. Sits close to the skin and feels relaxed and calming.

Lanvin L'Homme: A clean, crisp, energetic citrus aromatic backed by lavender and various herbs. Criticized as generic, while it's nothing new it's certainly safe and effective, with a bit of an old-school slant.

John Varvatos Artisan Blu: Like the Lanvin described above in a lot of way, this is a very fresh citrus fragrance but much more updated and modern in how it feels. Starts out smelling like fresh, soapy Sprite, and dries down to a mineralic pine and cedar wood base. Has a great looking bottle too.

Versace Pour Homme: A complex aromatic blue fougere with a watery, aqueous aura, Pour Homme is a very nice blend of citruses and florals, with smooth tonka and amber adding heft in the base.

Montblanc Individuel: A very unique smell that manages to be both very sweet AND super-clean and crisp at the same time. It's one big accord resulting from raspberry, chocolate, lavender, sandalwood, and cinnamon being totally blended together. It smells a little like all of them and nothing like any of them. Either way, it's really nice, but be careful as it can be a love/hate sort of smell. Performance is ridiculously good. For an office, 2 sprays will get you through the entire day.

Not sure what you consider cheapies. I know that Prada Luna Rossa Carbon and or Black are fairly office safe. I am currently wearing Polo Blue/Gold Blend. I was not a fan of Terre D' Hermes. Maybe it was a bogus sample or something. Although it was like I bathed in cedar shavings.

    Why do you need 3-5?

I'd suggest Prada Amber pour Homme for cooler weather and Guerlain Homme L'eau Boisee.

So many good options listed so far, although "cheapie" obviously means different things to different people.

I'll throw in Jaguar Pace, Cartier Roadster, Ferrari Uomo and Set Sail St. Barts for Men. Also, if you can get to a Zara and sample some of their frags, you can find some really nice, clean scents for cheap there without having to blind buy.
