Balade Sauvage. More unique. interesting and easy to wear.
    Spice Blend is basic.

I thought Spice Blend was absolute garbage. I really enjoy Balade Sauvage as a nice, interesting...but clean summer-fig that would work anytime of the year really.

Balade Sauvage is much better, IMO, than Spice Blend.

But it's not on the level of Bois d'Argent, Ambre Nuit, and Feve Delicieuse or the ones that have been discontinued or restricted in distribution, like Cuir Cannage and Vetiver.

I havent tried Balade Sauvage, but I actually like Spice Blend. Its got a softer texture than i usually go for, but it is pleasant

After extensively sampling balade sauvage, I found extreme similarities with goutal’s eau de sud, and atkinsons posh on the green. There is a green woody accord that I find prominent in all of them, because of which I couldn’t justify a FB at Dior price. It is very nice though and would have been worth it if I did not have the other 2 already.

I would go with Spice Blend. I really enjoy that one. It is certainly not groundbreaking, but I like it all the same.

Neither. Don't encourage this Maison Christian Dior nonsense!

Seriously, I own Balade Sauvage (40ml bottle) and it's nice, but nothing special, though I haven't tried Spice Blend.

Balade Sauvage is nice. I didn't love it, but I definitely like it... but Bois d'Argent and Ambre Nuit are both outstanding, each in different ways. Bois d'Argent is a particularly interesting scent. There are so many same old same old scents that smell like derivatives of so much we've all smelled before, but I've never smelled anything like Bois d'Argent before.

Thanks everybody! I'm now considering Bois d'Argent as an option, wasn't it softened by reformulation?

I have a relatively recent decant (late 2018). It's soft - this scent has always been soft - but its quite long lasting. Bois d'Argent is more of a gentlemanly scent than a clubber. It doesn't project out with beastly power at all. It's more of an up close "get to know me" sort of scent. From a distance, I don't it'll be noticed. If someone comes within your personal space, it'll get noticed, but in a charming way, not in a desperate for attention way. It reminds me a bit of 1725 Casanova or Royal Oud, not in terms of how it smells but how it wears. It's very unisex.

SAMPLE FIRST! And while you're sampling, I'd recommend sampling Ambre Nuit too.

Ambre Nuit, Bois D'Argent, and Spice Blend have all seemed to be of high quality to me. Blending seems smooth, no jagged edges. The ingredients smell like quality. Beyond that it might just be finding which is to your taste.

I agree with all of the above.

I'll add, too, that the softness of Bois d'Argent is PERFECT for the kind of fragrance that it is. Yes, it is soft, but it is beautiful and lasts all day long into the evening. It's like a whisper that you forget about over the course of the day only to get whiffs of every now and then to be minded of its grace. And it's so versatile.

It's definitely not for the obnoxious bro who is fishing for compliments and thinks everyone around needs to be able to smell him.

Bois d'Argent is my most worn of the past year for good reason.

Stop paying attention to garbage like that and just try it yourself and make up your own mind.

Difficult to say as it's alway been soft but very, very persistent as noted above - it's a bit of an ambroxan bomb. The current version is by Francois Demachy I believe and the original by Annick Menardo so I would imagine there are some subtle differences due to reformulation. I smelt it recently and it didn't smell different to my nose (I own the Menardo version).
