Default Most clunky, ridiculous packaging award goes to

    Mad Et Len

I love most of their fragrances. Their fragrances are always interesting and smell really good. But their packaging does not work for me at all. I have three of their scents, because they are great. But the packaging includes what is suppose to be a rustic heavy metal box, but it just comes across as a scrap metal like rusty, heavy, clunky box. And then you have the bottles, which includes these clunky sprayers that look like they came from Whole Foods in the “bottles and atomizers” section. Whenever I think to wear one of those fragrances, my second thought is always about the clunky rusty boxes and weird sprayers. It would be so much nicer if they just did regular bottles in a regular box with a regular sprayer.

Although I like the house to a certain degree, I find Linari bottles clunky and awkward.

I just bought a bottle of Red Square and Blue in Musc a few weeks ago. One showed up fine...the other had rust all over the cap from the weird metal packaging. I typically don't care about the bottle or packaging but it does seem like a complete waste of metal...just spend more on the atomzier itself if you're going to put that much into it.

Certain metal bottles, while not the most ridiculous nor even that clunky looking, perhaps including the Paco line by Paco Rabanne and Kenzo Power among designers, Comptoir Sud Pacificque among niche might convey this particular aspect and sensation to a certain particular degree

One of the bottles was so rusty that it made me itch whenever I got it on my hands, so I just stopped using it.

As much as I like the line scentwise, the Mugler Exceptions packaging and bottles are environmentally wasteful, with unnecessary metal clip, thick bulky box and a heavy bottle awkward to handle. They also fly in the face of Mugler’s supposed dedication to recycling with their refillable bottles for some products while having packaging overkill for ithers.

Also, to make it worse, my initial bottle of Cuir Impertinent leaked and required a placement bottle.

It’s not surprising about the leaking, TL. The caps are not secure. Do you find you need two hands like I do to keep from dropping the bottle?

To be fair, I should say that Les Exceptions, though overpackaged, are one of the refillable lines. But other Mugler products that could be are not, like their big bulky Angel Body Cream.

Kemi Blending Magic packaging is just too much. When I feel really indulgent, I wear Aurum for myself, but the packaging takes room of ten normal boxes.

    Too much whining.
The boxes looks very nice. You can keep the samples in it, or the essential oils, or the spices, or your bells and whistles, or other perfume boxes.
Or, if you like the perfume and you know you won't sell it, you can leave the box near the dumpster, someone will take it and use it.
Metal and glass are easily recyclable.

Happening to like to contents of the bottles too, among the ones mentioned in my previous post very much-due to lacking any experience with Diesel Only The Brave and CH Bad Boy, either positive or negative, so far- just not so much the outer presentations, even by the standards of someone like myself who generally is very unconcerned by the bottle aspect, as long as the fragrance contained is good and well stored

I like outlandish packaging. The alternative is something like the latest Guerlain lookalike bottles, which only their accountants love. Sorry, but for a luxury fragrance house, those generic bottles are a real turn-off.

That was an awful move of Guerlain! Each fragrance had an identity with its own bottle. Now a lot has the same face. Hope they undo this one day. We lost some wonderful pieces.

Bad Boy looks so cheap. And it’s aesthetically awful to my tastes just like Only The Brave.

I'd say it's Paco Rabanne. Their bottles look like they belong at the bottom of a Happy Meal, not in a grown man's wardrobe.

I had the most 'problems' with Bois 1920, and the older Xerjoff boxes....

Since I store my frags in their boxes. Open up, take it out, spray, put it back together..

I feel your pain. Which is probably why I haven’t been wearing my Xerjoff JTC 40 Knots.

By Kilian - overpriced “coffin” boxes are ridiculous

Andy Tauer - metal boxes are too much

Serge Lutens - boxes that don’t close when sprayer in used on bottle instead of splash cap is extremely annoying.
