Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Greetings to Cathped! Hope you enjoy hanging out with us.

I have re-discovered an old bottle of Empreinte de Courreges
that I haven't worn in a while. According to one perfume website :-
"In the summer of ’69 there was a footprint left on the moon. This exceptional event inspired Andre Courrèges to name his first fragrance Empreinte de Courrèges, a fragrance that was to become an icon. The Empreinte or print is also the fragrant trace a woman leaves in her wake; "

This brings back memories of the 70's. when these green/leather chypres were the cat's whiskers.
Conceived by Robert Gonnon in 1970, Empreinte is a bit like Bandit's younger more timid sister with
hints of Calandre,Fidji and Ivoire also. I can't say I would wear it on a regular basis but it is worth the
    effort now and then.
A woman without perfume is like a flower without a scent.

Good day, everyone, and welcome, Cathped!

Today I'm in Les Nereides Imperial Opoponax.

Sometimes I worry that this smells too much like potpourri, though on closer examination I don't think so - too much going on, and the middle notes keep it in 'perfume' range for me. Also, at some point I realized I don't care if it does smell a bit like potpourri, because it's soft, rounded and warmly sweet spices. Yum! Great for a grey and chilly day.

    Marvelous Monday to all!

Opoponax / Impérial Opoponax fragrance notes Orange peel, Bergamot, Grasse jasmine, Hawthorn, Sandalwood, Myrrh, Vanilla, Benzoin, Amber.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

    Welcome, Cathped!

Starting the week in Pen's Vaara, from a mini. Don't mind this one but don't love it and glad it's just a mini. The Penhaligon miniature bottles, however, are adorable; I have plans to re-purpose my little set as violet vases!

    Have a good day, all!

You're invited to jump in with both "peds," Cathped!

I just took a Super Shower. You know what I'm talking about, right? You bother to shave your legs, moisturize your heels, etc. Nothing bypassed. Then I applied Le Labo Lys 41, which is pretty assertive for a floral. Altogether feelin' pretty bitchin' for a Monday morning.

Today I'm scanning 2003. This years-long scanning process is like watching your life flash slowly ("flash slowly"?) before your eyes or binge-watching a series you've already watched.
    I don't want to. I don't have to. You can't make me. I'M RETIRED.
