    Default Byredo

We were in Neiman Marcus and my wife loves 1996 and had Seven Veils (I loved it, she was on the fence about this one). Wanted a new scent. She loved Mojave Ghost and Gypsy Water and were told they sold the best in the NM in Atlanta and perhaps the whole NM system. She got some, but I swear I can not smell it on her. Read the reviews and seems to be the case.

Is it going to be better projecting in spring and summer when the weather heats up? Should we return it and get something else, like Bal D'Afrique and the new one, Slow Dance (which she loved).

We got samples and I tried Accord OUd and it does project and last.

For me you did pick the 2 with small sillage -- Mojave Ghost and Gypsy Water and I don't think the warmer weather will help much

Bal D'Afrique is something else though -- lovely and potent with it. However, if your wife loves Slow Dance you had better get that as well if you can.

Im trying to get her to wear her samples and decide. She did like Slow Dance, and Mojave Ghost and as they told her MG was the top seller, she went with that. Slow Dance was newest.

Can she smell the ones you bought? I’d probably look at Slow Dance or Purple Haze or something else I can smell. I’m glad I’m not the only one who is anosmic to some of the Byredos. I can’t really smell Mohave Ghost or Gypsy Water too strongly, but Bal d’Afrique I think I’m actually totally anosmic to! I don’t smell anything! (Or else maybe the emperor has no clothes?)
My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.

I had a brief fling with Bal d'Afrique, but ultimately found it wanting—in terms of scent, not performance. Haven't found any other Byredo compelling, either. Still, I'm glad other people love it, if only because there's a market for my barely-used Bal d'Afrique.

Pretty much my overall experience also.

Another vote for Bal D'Afrique, great longevity and sillage.

I also own 1996 but it is much softer more body close but I can still smell it clearly hours later.
