Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Hello!

Frescaessenza again today - and the bottle is finished.
After two recently finished travel bottles and several things I gave away I can say I learned 2 lessons. 1st: don't buy even a small bottle of something you merely like, because then you'll have to wear it instead of wearing your favourites all the time. And that's robbing yourself of pleasure. 2nd: it's smart to get the smallest bottle available of something you want first if it's not something you're going to wear very often, as even a travel spray or a mini lasts for a looong time (especially mini). And if it's not a true love, you might just get bored of it before you use it up. Of course, these lessons are for me and not for you - they're important to me because I don't want my wardrobe to get too big and I don't want the hassle of selling.

And also I was rambling about wanting a Narciso the other day... I said I couldn't decide if I like EDP, EDT or Poudree the most.
Well, I went to the shop for a home fragrance refill and saw some 50 ml cubes of Narciso EDT sitting on the shelf with a 50 % discount.
Let's just say my doubts were resolved in a minute and I didn't leave the shop empty handed - but definitely without a home fragrance refill.

HOP, your affection for horses got me thinking about our member FrouFrou, the most gifted artist I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in real life. Here's one of her paintings:
    https://aafke-art.com/2009/10/26/october-26/

So often a BN loved one falls away from posting, and I understand how that happens. I've stumbled into months-long sabbaticals. But the loss is so great for us who miss these special people in our lives. Tomorrow I'm going to write to FrouFrou and rtamara and maybe others to say "come home to us."

For now, I'm headed to the shower and thinking about popping over to Nordstrom before going to the grocery store. They just got the JM Vetiver & Golden Vanilla.

ETA: "They" being Nordies, not the grocery.

    Nina Ricci Amour d'Amandier.

I am not in a good place at the moment as my annoying
plantar fasciitis has caused me to trip over and bruise both knees on a hard, wooden floor. I tried to put weight on my foot and it gave way and I fell forwards.
The left one swelled up quite spectacularly and necessitated a trip to A and E for an x-ray. Fortunately nothing broken but general swelling around the patella.

I am really looking forward to seeing the back of these mobility problems!

Quarry, I'm also interested in Vetiver and Golden Vanilla. I'm just putting off the visit to Jo Malone counter - I know they have it, I've seen the ads already. Please share your impressions when you get to try it!

    Poor Kewart!

I'm wearing Le Partum de Therese once again. I hope so many repeat wearings don't get me kicked off Basenotes!

Quarry, I'd love to see those old BN members drop by and I'd be curious to find out how their perfume journies are going. Are they still exploring on their own, have they joined another group, etc.

    Have a good day.
