Question My (past and) current collection and what do add next?

Hello! This is my first post on this forum and I wanna say that i'm quite excited to be apart of this community!
i'm in my early 20s and as a teenager growing up, i was spoiled with getting a bunch of perfume as gifts and didn't appreciate them too much due to the fact that I was going trough puberty and as a young man you tend to sweat a lot... Anyways I gave most of the scents that I had away or sold them but here was my lineup and I will compare it to what I have now.
    Growing up:

    -Antonio banderas electric seduction(citrus)
    -Gucci by gucci
    -Bvlgari Homme
    -jean paul gauthier le male
    -swiss army cologne
    -yachtmen red

I got rid of some of them(yachtmen red to my nose was disgusting), JPG LM I gave to my best friend and swiss army man amongst bvlgari and some other perfume I forgot about I ended up selling ( I regret selling the blvgari but such is life)

Here is my current Lineup (2020)

-Caron Le Troisième Homme ( Reading up on Tom Ford, I found out he wore PUH and I figured I would have the third man be my first vintage scent. Got the botle and was not disapointed, The mix of vanilla and herbs is absolutely masterful and it is one of my favorite scents)

-Rasasi La Yuqawam (During boxing day I went to the mall and tried Ombre Leather and I fell in love. Was curious about getting A leathery scent and read up on this one being a TL clone. It smells wonderful and I'm quite happy with it although nothing like OL)

-White musk Abdul Samad Al Gurashi (A personal favorite of mine, Very flowery and beautiul and one of the best things I ever smelt. Takes me to heaven)

-Gucci by Gucci (growing up I wore it for big events and during the evening and still do, I find it to have a bit of sweetness as well as spice to it, but I could be wrong, still learning how to identify notes)

-Antonio Banderas electric seduction (This one I swear to god is the perfume that got me the most compliments growing up. It became my go to perfume when going out on dates and everybody loves it. An aquatic and citrus dominated scent)

Honestely if there is any perfume that I would have back, it would be the bvlgari. But now I wonder if I could get an opinion on my Lineup and if anybody has any reccomendations for the next scents I should be looking at? I notice I seem to lack more robust oud, tobacco and woddy scents. I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter and thanks again!

    Welcome!

The Rasasi is pretty warm and heavy, so technically you have that area covered. but since you seem to like Troisieme homme, how about another classic of the brand, Yatagan, which is woody with a vegetal top? Perhaps it will click too.

Hello cacio! I am actually strongly considering taking a look at yatagan! I was also considering DG the one as well A*men pure havane which I see popping up everywhere! I was also wondering about aventus which seems to be up there in legendary status (or perhaps a clone) or maybe a tom ford scent like plum japonais, oud wood or tobbaco oud

I'd steer away from aventus clones & purchase a 30ml GLASS decent of aventus off ebay, at this moment they can be had for around $60.

Welcome to you. Two suggestions one an oud - Black Aoud by Montale and one a tobacco - Tobacco by Franck Boclet.

I've been looking at the montale house in general and wondering if you have a go to ultimate must have recomendation? All of their stuff looks amazing! So far torn between oudmazing, black aoud and intense café...anything else I should know about?

Many Montale aouds have a similar woody oud base, so to some extent what changes are the accompanying notes. Black aoud is the most classic (oud with rose), if you want something more animalic then oud cuir d'arabie.

A clever move would be to do a bunch of sampling. I haven't done big sample orders for a few years since I've had enough perfume to swap samples, but the key to getting into perfume and understanding the options was sampling, from sites such as Surrender to Chance and the Perfumed Court.

I'm thinking 3rd Man and La Yuq are so different, I couldn't possibly recommend something - other than Yatagan - good call, Cacio.

I personally love getting a bunch of samples. 2 ml is plenty.

From sampling, you could easily find 10s of fragrances you like more than anything you have now. You can either have a huge collection or you can be really picky about what to get in full bottles.

You can also accumulate so many samples, you never need another bottle - you can accumulate a lifetime's worth of samples in three of four years fairly easily.

Would also consider and recommend adding The One EDP and Intenso by D&G, Mugler Pure Malt and/or Pure Malt Creation, Chergui by Serge Lutens, Guerlain LIDGE, Mystique Homme by Al Haramain, Bogart pour Homme, Original Santal and/or Tabarome Millesime by Creed to a list of possible samples

The One EDP and Intenso are good suggestions. Also try Tom Ford Tobacco Oud, Michael for Men by Michael Kors or Michael Kors for Men.

Was looking around for tobacco oud but it's one of the more expensive ones out there! Was wondering if there are any alternatives to this...
