    Default Salted Green Mango

I sampled this one a couple days ago and have been putting together my thoughts to post a review.
Yesterday I stumbled upon Claire V's review.
I literally thought I was reading my thoughts verbatim.
I decided it would be redundant, so I'm posting what Claire said, since I had the same exact experience.
I think when a fragrance reacts the same way with a younger woman and a fossilized man like me, you've got a winner.
Her review is so spot on, it's uncanny.

    Claire;s review:
"Salted Green Mango is, for me, the standout of the Strangers Parfumerie line. The mango note is not really the point – it’s just a momentary swelling of something syrupy and green-tropical behind the avalanche of musk and vetiver, subsiding into the ether far too quickly to be a feature.

The thing to pay attention to here is the salt. Salted Green Mango is basically a huge, spacey cloud of sparkly vetiver-musk molecules that mimics the invigorating scent of salt air. It smells clean, but despite the probably industrial amounts of white musks or Iso E Super used here, also quite organic, like what I imagine the air around the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah smells like on a breezy day. And yet, there is something clearly lab-made about the scent; it feels engineered, ergonomic, and therefore a bit more chic or more modern than just a simple clustering of naturals.

I’m in love with how this (really quite simple) scent of white, clean, salty woods and musk gives me that ‘my-skin-but-better’ aura; it’s effortless and sensual. I’m willing to bet serious money that people who love those modern, shape-shifting floral-woody musks made to smell like 50% cyborg, 50% warm human skin – stuff like Glossier You, Diptyque’s Fleur de Peau, and Le Labo Ambrette 9 – will love Salted Green Mango. For me, it knocks all those modern skin musks, as well as Jo Malone’s (really excellent) Wood Sage & Sea Salt, right off their perches. This one goes straight on the full bottle list."

Claire, if you read this I just wanted you to know:
On my first wearing as Salted Green Mango was developing my thoughts were my-skin-but-better.

    Thank you for posting this.

I never got mango notes from this bottle. I will have to go and smell it again with the review in mind. Much appreciated!
FYI: I spray all fragrances on clothing, never on skin.

    I didn't either.
I'm with Claire. It's all about how that salt melds with your skin.

This may be my favorite of this line. Really lovely. Strangely I DO get lots of green mango. At least at first.

It has a cult following but I couldn't find myself wearing it from a sample I had. Perhaps I need to revisit again in a different mood.

All current Strangers and Prissana releases are on Lucky Scent now. Easy!
I wanted Salted Green Mango to be more of a love for me, but it's a little too fruity, not enough salt for me.

That's interesting, I get more salt than any type of fruity notes.
But a good case for sampling first.

if you don't want to take any chances with a full bottle, you can get a 5ml or 10ml decant.

Wish is was true. I had to buy Mriga directly from Prissana. Shipping was $40 from Thailand. Be here in ten days he said. Got a few samples including Salted Green Mango. Looking forward to it.

I'll be eager to hear your reactions, since our taste in greens is often similar.

It depresses me, though, that we've reached a stage where $2.20/ml is considered a reasonable price.

I had a $40 gift card at Lucky so it only was $30 instead of $70 for me.

Well, technically that's the Prin line, which is not yet on LS... but hopefully soon!
(I think three simultaneous lines might be too many...)

Considering blind buying it along with some other Strangers samples very soon. I live in a tropical country so I'm always on the hunt for something that can work in this blasted heat.

This one is REALLY interesting! Love the saltiness, and yes, it smells somewhat synthetic, but in a less bothersome way than most.

Only slightly fruity; it's primarily a kind of atmospheric and intriguing skin scent that ends up smelling like a sea-going musk of sorts. This what I originally imagined ambergris would smell like.

So far, I'm surprisingly fascinated. (I think this may be a tiny bit "masculine" for some females.)

I just received my bottle today! Will report back. Initial spritz: I like it. There's something vaguely animalic in the meatiness of the fruit. Quite unique.

I wore it last night and again this morning. I really like it.

It opens with a very meaty mango, I found it natural smelling not artificial. I get a lot of tropical flavors here, I'm struck with papaya. But they are tempered with a sort of over-ripe dirty quality. As if the fruit fell off a tree and was rotting for a couple days, which gives it this almost animalic musky thread. The fragrance turns tart and green. I get a hint of saltiness, but not as much as others. I have one fragrance. Profumo e Gusto in Libertà : CAaastagna_saalaaata by Hilde Soliani Profumi, which is salty and seasoned like the Mediterranean ocean. I don't find this to be nearly as salty as CAaastagna. Other samplers get more salt than fruit. Overall, I get more fruit than salt. But it maintains a gritty undertow and that sharp green accord, which avoids being like a shower gel. I have applied one extra spritz than usual for me, on average - 5 sprays instead of 4 and with that application I am finding very good longevity and decent silage. It's more than a skin scent on me at that level. I'm very pleased with this blind buy.

The quality is there, but I had to scrub this one off--not for me! I think I don't like overripe fruit. It reminds me of the decaying melon in Frederic Malle Parfum de Therese, which makes me nauseous
