Default What are your thoughts on L'artisan DZING!!???

I've found this for half the retail cost.
Is it similar to bulgari black?
It will be a blind buy so it would help if it's similar to something i might know of...
    Thanks!!

I love it. I think it’s fairly unique. I have one of the newer bottles, and I wish I had one of the older ones. But it’s quite interesting and very enjoyable.
FYI: I spray all fragrances on clothing, never on skin.

Recently. one of my favourite leathers. Some might find the opening a little skanky but then transitions into slightly sweetened leather and funky muskiness. Not like Black at all to my nose.

Own and love it. Half off retail is excellent!

Yeah it's 76 euros for the big bottle.
I don't think i'd pay full retail on this unless i was really crazy for it.
I like getting good deals on the fragrances i buy.

    Not like Black.

Cotton candy. Animalic notes. One of the best niche fragrances you can buy. Get it!

I had a sample of the new version and bought a bottle based off that, but I did find an older clear bottle version. If it has changed, it is barely discernible.

Love Dzintars. I don’t find it similar to Black and I much prefer it to Black too.

Love Dzing and definitely see why it gets compared to Black but Dzing has a lot more going on.

I love Dzing. I kept coming back to my sample and finally had to get a bottle. It isn't like Bulgari Black (which I also love) at all .

One of the better animalic fragrances IMO.

I think it's a beautiful fragrance. Really unique and in many ways artistic. I don't get all that petting zoo talk? To me it's quite a pretty fragrance. Soft leather with wood and some florals. There is a slight cotton candy vibe bit it's not sickly or juvenile. The only issue I have is longevity and projection. It's really light on me. Nevertheless, it's a lovely smelling piece of work.

I've never found it skanky, animalic, whatsoever. Some cardboard, then much leather, then sweet goodness. One of the best scents I've come across ever.

And no Bulgari Black, at all. Quite different scents.

It has been well over a decade since I sniffed it, but back then I remember disliking it. Oh, and not even remotely close smelling to Black to my nose.

Great scent. BB is all about rubber to me and--while interesting--less wearable to me.
Very clearly a case for corn flakes and classics

Ahhhhhh, DZING! A true (and I don't use this word lightly) MASTERPIECE by L'Artisan. DZING! is one of my VERY favorite Fragrances of all times! The current DZING! (while still good) is (in my opinion) waaaaay toned down compared to DZING! circa early 2000's. Back in the day, DZING! (with Circus Girl riding on top of the Tiger) was a LOT more "Animalic!". I only wish it were the same today. Still, half price.....oooh yea!

Hi @Foamywax, Oooh yes, it's still a very good Fragrances. I have TWO bottles that I purchased about a year-year and a half ago when they were being sold REALLY cheap on line. I'm glad I popped for the two bottles then because now, they are rather expensive me thinks. Enjoy your DZING!

It’s certainly a testament to how differently we all smell the same scents and how we can all smell them differently over time. Dzing used to be animalic glue (to me) and Black was vanilla rubber... nostalgia by SMN used to smell like old versions of Fahrenheit (to me). Now Fahrenheit smells like tame cologne, Nostalgia smells like Italian leather. Bulgari Black smells like Vanilla in a light smoky tea... and Dzing smells like a warm comforting vanilla. At one point, these all smelled like they belonged in a similar “avant-garde” class of perfumery. But smelling them all on strips now, they seem pretty easy going. Funny.

Very interesting, SixCats! I’d guess there’s something to it. My partner of the last ten years is a well regarded food documentarian(over 250 films with new food artisans) and she’s definitely an adventurous eater. In the last ten years since we’ve been together, my tastes in perfume has gotten more obscure. So there may be correlation.

Simply stunning. A lesson of creativity in perfumery. Wouldn’t recommend to the average joe, but definitely to a frag enthusiast who own 30+ bottles. And current discounter’s pricing is a steal.
Performance is very average, but I even got a compliment from a person living with me who usually hardly give any.
    I’d describe it as a «*sweet leather*».

Hi Guys, Foam and Proust, you are most welcome. Proust, I do indeed think there must be some sort of correlation. I mean, sense of smell has EVERYTHING to do with taste. I'm old enough to remember the experiments we use to do in Grade School where one would be Blindfolded and have a "Cloths Pin" (God, am I dating myself) clamp onto ones Nose. Then, someone would take a small cut piece of (either Apple or Onion) and place it in ones Mouth and one couldn't distinguish weather or not it was an Apple or Onion until removing the "Cloths Pin". That being said.....like Anne Elk : "well, this theory that I have--that is to say, which is mine-- ...is mine."
