Just found out... A railroader on a short line, that shares the Buffalo Line, where my husband works, suffered serious injuries the other day, after a freak accident. He fell off a car he was riding [allegedly]. He lost an arm and a leg. This, is why every day, when my husband goes to work, I always remind him, to Be Careful. Whether or not, he is an engineer that day, or a conductor.

Wearing my bottle of I See The Clouds Go By by Floraiku which came to me from Twisted Lily today.

With the speculation going on in the discount thread, I'm wondering if I should prioritize going to Twisted Lily over other shops in my area (Bergdorf, Osswald, Scentbar, etc...) the next few weeks.

It's a shame that despite years of being into fragrance I waited so long to go to this shop since it's in Brooklyn, not Manhattan. I had a fantastic time there. I'm genuinely hoping everything is okay. Wondering what to do in the meantime...

So sad for the victim and his loved ones. I'm sure train work is a dangerous profession. You are right, always tell those near and dear how much you care for them.

    Hello all.

I'm going to be off the grid all next week at a Tibetan Buddhist retreat center in the Northern California woods. No Wi-Fi or cellular service. Afterwards, I'm heading up to the San Francisco Bay Area to visit family and friends. I'm toting along L'Air du Desert Marocain, Patch Flash, and Tam Dao. That ought to be enough to choose from and are all good cool weather scents. Take care and have a good week.

Wise words . As a railwayman myself I am only too aware of the daily hazards working in the industry can bring. I don't hold a safety critical position but have many long standing friends who do. My heart goes out to him and his loved ones.

((HOP)) - what a scary thing to happen to your husband's colleague.
We don't always appreciate the danger some people put themselves in to
help the rest of us. Hopefully lessons will be learned from this freak accident.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Yes, railroading can be a dangerous job. I feel bad about the man and his family, let alone his co-workers who had to deal with the accident's aftermath.

    Have a peaceful time, Trilby.

    Hello!

Oh HoP! This is so sad and scary to read. My heart also goes out for the poor guy and his loved ones.
Your words about telling our loved ones to take care and tell them how much we appreciate them everyday are very wise.

Trilby Lark, enjoy your retreat! We'll be waiting for you. I'm sure the time spent there will bring you calm and inspiration.

Teardrop, I would be lying if I said that you didn't inspire Me to look up Samsara! I'm very glad and thankful that I did!
And I'm enjoying my new cut and colour, thank you. I went for a simple Bob, and left my natural dark brown at the roots with the light ombre that goes to burgundy/dark cherry colour to my ends. The deep and cold toned burgundy suits me well. I'm happy with how it turned out.

    Wearing Terre de Lumiere today.

Hello and best to everyone. HoP, that’s dreadful, I’m sorry. You are so right about wishing our loved ones well and to be careful which is truly another way of saying ‘I love you’.

Trilby Lark I wish you a peaceful and fulfilling retreat.

SOTD: Caron Parfum Sacre. Beautiful, dusty spiced roses and incense. I always marvel that it was launched in 1991, it feels like it belongs to another, earlier era yet is timeless, too. Enjoy your day, all.
