Default Have you ever came back around to a fragrance after long enough that you forgot just how good it is?

    Well,

This morning I got a wanting for a warm weather scent and Acqua di Parma - Fico di Amalfi popped into my head and I was like, yeah, I haven't worn that in months......wow, this stuff is just amazing. I forgot just how enjoyable it is.

That happens to me with my Creeds. I don't wear them often at all anymore and I used to wear them all the time, but when I do wear them again, I'm reminded of why I loved them and wore them so much.

This happens to me all the time! Especially during periods like now where I'm buying a lot and mostly wearing my new ones or samples I want to skin test to decide if they are FBW or not. Occasionally I'll go back to an older scent and fall in love with it all over again.

I don't wear Guerlain Mitsouko and LHB a lot since my bottles are vintage and I want to preserve them, but when I do I'm reminded how beautiful they are.

    Tabac Rouge
    Heritage (On numerous ocassions)
    Oajan
    M7 Oud Absolu

I think the truth is that sometimes you need a break from a fragrance to fully appreciate it. The nose often gets too familiar.

Usually with the change of seasons and I come back to a cold weather/warm weather scent after a break of many
    Months
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

Yes: Déclaration Essence (2001) by Cartier...it was my signature scent in the early 2000's...then I stopped wearing it until last year when I decided to buy it again: love it!

This is the case with Vintage Tabarome, it's always a delight whenever I do throw some on.

Several fragrances, vintage Heritage EDT, Cerutti 1881, Paco Rabanne PH being some of the both more recent and more striking examples.

Did already like or enjoy these fragrances, just needed some re-testing after having inadvertently overlooked them for some time and to understand how good they still remain.

Happened with nearly every single one of my fragrances that I've kept.

Aventus, Layton, AdG Essenza, Cardinal Heeley stick out. It took months for me to really come back and think 'ok, yes, this is actually how I want to smell'.

Same here, sometimes if it's been awhile between wearings I have an idea in my mind what something smells like, but when I get around to wearing it again I end up pleasantly surprised at how good it is.

I force myself to limit my individual fragrances to a specific season or time of year, so there's always a little 'rediscovery' element to smelling something for the first time in a while. I just broke out the Guerlain L'instant EDP for the first time in over a year and enjoyed it much more than I anticipated.

TF Tuscan Leather. I even had it up for sale on here. Either too low of offer or endless requests on the batch code at the bottom of the bottle it never sold. Took it off the market and gave it another go and am enjoying it much more now.

Happened with Bleu De Chanel quite often, but then gets boring after repeated wears annoying lol. My current favorites each wear I’m reminded why I love them I like how certain fragrances never lose their wow factor.
