I got my Gator chainsaw lopper stuck in a tree limb today. My ladder was a bit off balance so I couldn't give it much of a yank. Walk away. Walk away. Took a hot bath and put on some soothing Rosarium. Tomorrow I'll use my other lopper to take off most of the weight of the falling limb and that should free it up. I hope. I hope. Otherwise, garden decorating will take on a whole new dimension.

Shycat, I hope you can retrieve your stuck lopper tomorrow.

Today I'm wearing Black Opium Neon by YSL from a magazine sample. (Of course I bought the magazine just for this sample.) It's a bit softer and lighter, less vanilla, less boozy, but the coffee is darker than in original. No need to own both, but it's a nice flanker. And it also morphed into a Dior by unfortunate mistake here. If it's not fixed soon, I will not need to hunt for a Dior sample for Dior Friday Synch that will be some time in spring.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Morning all!

Shycat, sounds like you made a wise decision. Stay safe out there!

ClockworkAlice, that is weird that a perfume got added to the Directory under the wrong house. l thought all entries went through a "vetting" process?!

l have two days off, & l'm catching up on some chores today in Oriental Pearl.

The weather seems to have eased off for now, but apparently there's more rain & wind due later this week.

Shycat, you made us COL (chuckle out loud). Wise course of action on your part. Our fam picked up a couple phrases from Mike Rowe of "Dirty Jobs" tv show fame. One is "safety third." We remind each other of this -- jokingly, of course.

I'm experimenting with layering Boucheron and Opium today. I loved the earliest 24 Faubourg, but can't stand something in the newer formulation. B+O=24F? Not quite, but not bad.

Good morning. A little bit of Prowl on this ridiculously beautiful day.

It is clear and sunny with our beautiful clouds and about 27 in C or 80 in F. Cool enough to go for a walk, warm enough to wear just regular clothes, perfect temperature for sitting on the front porch in the shade. This is the weather that the snowbirds come down here for. And also the literal birds, there are more of them right now, all around the "lake" (mitigation pond at my work) ibis and herons, and I saw an osprey diving for a fish a couple days ago. Hoping to see the alligator up on the banks soon.

I know I shouldn't have posted all these pictures. I do all kinds of things I know I shouldn't do. The weight reducing second lop did free the Gator but not before my good neighbor, Rusty, was on his way to tell me something. Something like "Get off that shaky ladder with your chainsaw!" I suspect. Bwah ha ha. Lucky for me I had it done and was on my way down before he made it.

Before this latest binge, the fence row was not visible because of grape vines, briars, and wild privet, and overgrown butterfly bushes/American beauty bushes, along with several volunteer trees. The gate was impassable. The boxwood under the arborvitae was also barely visible. The back sink area...not visible. The little stream was lost in privet and hackberries, and the tree you can see down was accompanied by another tree and...yes, wild privet, hackberries, and briars.

It has all been cut to size and burned at night in my chiminea, apparently to keep Vanilla warm.

That’s an odd-looking tree Shycat, with all those long vertical branches growing up from the base. Nicely cleared out though.

shycat love the photos and the safety third lopper story.

I'm in Dark Amber and Ginger Lily today. It's labeled a "cologne intense". Intense is right. This stuff lasts a good 24 hours on me! It'll carry me through tonight's "Rent" playing in Birmingham.
