I'm wearing Ambre Precieux this morning. Now that my outside activities and vacation have been cancelled, I'll have more time to read

HofP, congrats on your posting milestone. Tigrushka, Happy Birthday! Sorry to hear your plans were also cancelled, Clockwork and 24Fau.

LOL.... Last year I went to India and Sri Lanka on business and noticed that every potty had a sprayer next to it and my co-workers explained that water was easier to come by than paper products. Ok, that made sense to me. When I got home I had my husband install one in every bathroom. During our Christmas party, several people commented on them, ranging from curious to mocking.

Fast forward to yesterday's trip to WalMart. All paper products gone from shelves. I guess I got the last laugh on that one.

HoP, we too are out of toilet paper in all the stores in a 50 mile radius. Ridiculous. Hand sanitizer is also not to be found, but that's okay. I can make my own, and I've always been a good hand washer.
Hazel, if you need TP we can drive half way to meet each other and I'll throw you a pack from a meter away. I am a good daughter, and my mother told me to stock up a couple of weeks ago. I rolled my eyes, which she can't see over the phone, and said okay. Next trip to the grocery to get a few things, I remembered my "okay" and not wanting to lie to my mother, I got two grocery carts full of stuff. I was hit or miss since I wasn't expecting this level of panic, but I did get two huge packs of tp. Got a fresh gallon of bleach and bottle of rubbing alcohol. Got extra toothpaste. (???)

I am posting, but I am scent free today as my hyacinths are in bloom and nothing beats the real thing.

In today's mail we received a I-thought-they-were-extinct Yellow Pages business directory. I told Mr. Q to save it. Those are nice, soft, thin pages. You young'ns do know what the Sears catalog was used for back in the outhouse days, don't you?

I recall what Sears catalogs were good for, Quarry...

Thanks for the posting milestone congrats, y'all. It's bittersweet. I am increasingly frustrated as how this site "works" for me. Tried different browsers and all, and my anti-virus and malware programs give hissy fits over this site's unsafe ways. I delete cookies and such nearly every 5 minutes of "airtime" here. I can't send private messages nearly most of time. SO mad, I deleted my "for sale" thread...

I think I'll just get drunk, this weekend.

So, if I up and stop posting for awhile it's because I'm too rattled. DH and I have no ideas what to do on our end, if it's our problem or basenotes.

How about a Saturday drink synch ?

Just wondered if you had tried the Brave browser ?. It is so reliable and user friendly I rarely use anything else now. Our security (Kaspersky) has no issues with BN either. Hope you can find a solution.

Ditto from me in Boston, and many congrats HoP, on your posting milestones! I'm raising what I tend to refer to as a "big a$$ red" blend called "Colassal" - delicious! - in honor of all and sundry).

I'm likewise sorry for everyone's cancelled travel and outing plans. That said, the COVID-19 "social distancing" thing is no joke, and my state's local epidemiologists are pointing to Italy's situation and urging us all to take the public health recommendations very, very seriously. I got notice today that my office will be going 'virtual' for the foreseeable future, starting Monday. As a singer, my husband sent me this Twitter post from Siena, Italy, where we were last September, and I found it particularly moving and uplifting. Let's find a way to be together in our isolation, folks. https://twitter.com/davidallegranti/...32097636200448

I'd actually ordered a few samples from Luckyscent early in the week in anticipation of today's sync, but they weren't here this morning. Still in sync with L'Artisan Tea for Two, one of my longtime faves anyway, as "Siberia" always conjures images of samovars of hot, sweet tea.

Arrived home after many hours preparing for work-virtually efforts and finalizing communications recommendations for hospitals in our state... The Luckyscent samples are here!

So will spend the weekend continuing the "Siberia" sync.

Fabulous (as possible) Friday to one and all!

Tea for Two fragrance notes: Lapsang souchong tea, Cinnamon, Ginger, Honey.

It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

Thank you again for all the kind birthday wishes yesterday and today! Y'all really are the best. And Happy Birthday to Tigrushka today!

Wow! I am late posting. Today was insane. I have never seen empty shelves at grocery stores, much less Costco. It was surreal. While other people were buying up TP, bleach, sanitizing wipes, and chicken, I was buying dried beans, whole grains, canned vegetables, and lots of canned tomatoes. I made a massive stock pot of chili tonight, and David made classic margaritas. With dry curaçao rather than triple sec. I'm going to eat chili, munch on Fritos, get drunk, and put puzzles together.

The schools here are now officially closed for the rest of the school year. Students were given packets of assignments and directions for online learning modules and that's that. Holy cow. The 13 y/o was excited. But then I pointed out that he wouldn't have school for 5 months. The speed with which his expression changed was priceless, especially as he's discovered girls this year. The kid's so self-aware -- he said, OMG, I'm going to be so bored in like a week!

Foxbins and others, I know you must be so disappointed about your trips. I'm sorry for that. But I'm glad you won't get stranded somewhere that isn't home. When things are this nuts, home is a good thing. Hugs to you all.

I have no idea what the synch was, but I wore Ava Luxe No. 23 today. I'm bummed it's discontinued. I wear a spritz every now and then. It's so pretty.

ETA: OK, so if I had synched, I would have worn CdG Zagorsk, one of the Incense series. I also asked for Areej le Dore Siberian Summer as one of the free with purchase samples for my Luckyscent order the other day.

Feeling unsure of what to do with the covid19 situation - I’m a snowbird in San Diego for the winter, scheduled to fly back on April 10th. But everything is so crazy, I don’t know if I should try to drive or wait and hope the flights are still operating next month. So I’m sitting here doused in an enormous cloud of incense, Rundholz 3.April.1968.
