Default Receding Hairline Or Thinning Hair?

It's not a huge issue for me, but I do have a light fade above my temples.
Most hair growth treatments only apply to the bald spot on the crown of your head.
So are there any products that help with the front fade? Just something to slow it down or help regrow?

    Hi Danny,

Most products that are marketed for hair loss are actually for alopecia areata or other types of hair loss. They do not cure or improve Androgenic Alopecia, which is the REAL problem for men. The only two products that really work for androgenic alopecia are the topic spray of Minoxidil (Rogaine) and Finasteride (Propecia) pills. Minoxidil does NOT work really well, which makes Finasteride the only really good solution. It REALLY works. I have been taking finasteride for more than 15 years and besides stopping my hair loss, I have more hair now than I had when I started. My Identical Twin brother is the living proof that it works. He has never taken take finasteride and he got bald in the top and front of the head. I don't know if your case is of Androgenic alopecia, since you said that only the temples are getting thinner. You should probably talk to a trichologist at least once, to get a diagnosis. Finasteride helps with regrowth and with stopping further loss. BUT HOWEVER it has side effects. For most people it only affects sperm production. You will produce less volume. But for 1 or 2% of the patients, it may cause "softer erections". So, many men tremble and fear when they hear about Finasteride.

P.S. If what you have is alopecia areata, a temporary condition, your treatment will probably be a combination of corticosterioid local injections or cream, and minoxidil spray.

All I know is it's receding above the temples and it's very slow and gradual. Not extreme. I'll talk to my doctor about it. May look into finasteride or see what my doctor says.

If it is ABOVE the temples, it very much looks like androgenic alopecia. I had a receding hairline there too. The type of hairline that actor Jack Nicholson had since his early days. If that is your case, Finasteride might indeed help you a lot. If you do not want to spend a fortune on hair transplants, and you don't mind producing less volume of "it", then maybe you should try it. Your doctor will give the final verdict. 1mg a day for the rest of your life.

Cool!! Thanks for the help. You basically reaffirmed what I had in mind to do anyway.
For soft erections, I take plenty of nitric oxide, so that shouldn't be a problem.
