    Default Cartier Declaration d'Un Soir

Hello everyone, Zhang Fan here with some questions about Cartier Declaration d'Un Soir. Rose is one of my favorite fragrance notes. So far, I have tried Chanel Egoiste, Guerlain Habit Rouge, and Guerlain Nahema. So I think Cartier's fragrance looks good too, but I cannot find a sample here in China. I have some questions:

    1. How is the Cartier fragrance compared to the other ones?

    2. Do you think this would be a good blind buy for me?

    3. Are two or three rose fragrances too many for a small collection?

    Thank you!

    IMO - Yes.

You can go for it. I love it, and it is different to the other roses you have.

    Basically it's rose+pepper+woods.

Owning and loving this fragrance, considering this one of the best addition to the current BN wardrobe-especially among Cartier fragrances.

Regarding the specific answers to the questions in the thread starting post, trying to reply as on topic and as precise as possible:

    1. Considering this to be (albeit personally and subjectively) one of the better Cartier Declaration flankers and one of the better Cartier masculines-albeit with a decent unisex appropriateness as well-in general.

    2. Fairly safe as a blind buy considering both the decent value for money on this, the fairly wide availability at comparatively inexpensive prices (at least compared to its quality) and considering your already existing, described and known fragrance preferences.

    3. Cartier Declaration d'un Soir is unique/different enough compared to various rose scent classics like Egoiste and/or Habit Rouge to not becoming redundant if owning all these, but also allowing to be in tune with a classic rose theme so admirably rendered in both this one and a few more both designer and niche/designer exclusive/artisan classics, as unique and nuanced as Ungaro II and III, Portrait of a Lady, Arlesienne by l'Occitane, Hammam Bouquet by Penhaligon's, Floris No. 89 but also various fragrances from the Versace Jeans range, YSL Paris, to name only a few.

I would sample it before committing to a full bottle, if you happen to like and it's something that you can wear by all means buy it.

    1. It's different compared to the other 3 you cite. It's a "sparkling/airy rose", basically rose and pepper, with a woody backbone. Quite unique and masculine. (although some got inspired by it since then, i.e. ELdO Hermann)

    2. If you love rose, yes.

    3. If you love rose, no.

A safe blind buy imo. One of Cartiers best.

Personally, I think it works best on evenings out, but they are a thing of the past now

I’ve never smelled this one, still available at very reasonable prices.

@ZhangFan >> you shouldn't be fooled about the rose component in it.
It is only very marginal. And not really noticeable.

But the complete perfume is exceptional!

Definitely worth buying blind! (my subjective personal opinion! I love it!)

It is also not comparable to any other perfume.

And for me one of the best Cartier fragrances and not only wearable in the evening - also during the day!
