Morning all, & Happy Birthday, grayspoole!

That fragrance the BN Robot is wearing sounds like a disease, doesn't it?

l have a couple of days off, & l'll be venturing out later to see what l can scavenge from the supermarket. We usually get most of our groceries delivered, but there's no delivery slots in sight, which ironically means having to go & mix with other people to get what we need...

l'm sampling A Rose is a Rose by Neil Morris, which isn't in the Directory.

The same here, teardrop! Supermarkets don't seem to deliver anymore...

    (((MIke)))

    Ine, very good news!

I am staying home today, but I have to go to the office tomorrow. Somehow, whatever happens, I have to be at work!
I am not afraid for me but I don't want to bring the virus home.

I have to spend many hours in the kitchen this morning, as we are making the famous Greek moussaka , so I think
Arabie will be suitable again for today.

    Happy birthday, grayspoole!

*dora*, mmmm, moussaka is super delicious! I'd love some, too! I haven't decided yet what to make for dinner and not really thinking about it as I just had lunch.

teardrop, grocery delivery is overcrowded here, too. Luckily I have enough food at home (I stash things all the time, not only for quarantine and it's normal for me to always have 2 or 3 shampoos or toothpastes and several boxes of buckwheat, rice and tuna ahead, and toiler paper of course ), but I'll soon be out of white bread, beer, fresh tomatoes and milk. I'll have to ration them now.

I never was into lavender, but I find myself craving for its calming scent these days. Luckily I had a lavender-forest berries face mist in my fridge and an awesome lady I swapped fragrances with has sent me a few nice decants of Lush fragrances, including Twilight - a very calming and cozy lavender and tonka fragrance. I'm wearing that since morning.

Ineespenes, congrats on your test being negative and hoping you'll start feeling better soon. Glad to hear Nick's concert is only postponed and not cancelled. I also hope you can still go when the time comes. His concert in Warszaw several years ago is still my favourite concert I've ever attended.

Mike, this is sad news. Sending healing wishes to your mom, and wishing you lots of strength.

    Yesterday Piña!

I am concert-sad too. Waited years to see Hayes Carll again, finally he tours out of Texas. Sold out show in Tampa, no place else sold out outside of Texas but we like him here. Cancelled, he had to cancel all March/April shows. I know it's a silly thing to be sad about, compared to people dying and being sick and out of work too. But I am.

Thanks all of you for the comforting words and hugs. My mother has been a sick woman for quite a while of my adult life so by now this is something I've made peace with. I fully accept that there's nothing I can do for her at this time. My time spent with her was...distant. She wasn't all "there" when I was around her. Again, I accept that. Peacefully. And I had a nice visit with my Dad. It felt very calm to be in their house with them during all of the craziness on the TV news (which was on 24/7 in their house...I don't watch TV at all in my house). I went through a lot of photo albums and found some adorable pics of me as a child. I will have to post some of these on BN when I get a chance.

This morning I needed something bittersweet and comforting so I reached for one of my Guerlain favorites that still smells pretty darned good on shelves now:

Mike, I am so sorry to hear your Mom is in such poor health. Hugs to you.

I'm in Une Bois Vanille this morning and about to get on the phone with Air Canada about my plane tickets. Their "rebook with no change fee" is so limited I can't use the ticket value under their terms, so I'm calling to negotiate. Wish me luck!

    Good luck, foxbins.

No frag yet. I'm just back from the grocery store. First visit since nationwide hoarding began. Little or none to be found of: t.p., facial tissue, natural peanut butter, Irish butter, grass-fed beef, and dark chocolate. Being low carb, I didn't think to look in the bread department, but I noticed that the pasta aisle was wiped out. Again, being low carb, we use a lot of eggs, and I'll normally buy 4 dozen at a time, but they're rationing sales, so could get only 2 dozen.

Happiest of Birthdays grayspoole! In your honor I will reread Jane Eyre. I reread my favorite classics when I need comforting, and in these crazy times it seems appropriate. Gothic escapism.

I'm, again, in I Am Coming Home by Floraïku. Lovely. It would be FBW except for the price. I may be able to swing a travel size.
