    Default National Fragrance Day 2020

Well, it snuck up on me again, today is National Fragrance Day. I haven’t yet applied a SOTD, and thought I’d open a thread for inspiration. What scent are you wearing today?

Happy fragrance day to all. In these crazy times, I’m more grateful than ever for this wonderful community of fragrant friends. Whether you’re self-isolating, or social distancing today, I know we all smell great!

Take care of yourselves, and each other.

    Happy Fragrance Day!

I am wearing my sample of new Bat by Zoologist today. When it fades, I will switch to something else, but not sure what yet. I want it to be special because of fragrance day!
    Favorite Houses:
    Hermès
    Rogue Perfumery
    Zoologist
    Amouage
    Frederic Malle
    Serge Lutens

    Loves:
Florals (especially rose, tuberose, cherry blossom, orange blossom, osmanthus, ylang ylang, immortelle, violet, jasmine, plum blossom, heliotrope, and iris)
Orientals (especially spicy, woody, and floral orientals)
    Boozy notes
    Chypres (especially with real oakmoss)
    Rich gourmands
    Animalic fragrances
    Great longevity and sillage

Thank you for the kind words, the thoughtful post and a reminder about a day quite likely to be more crucial and/or more familiar here on BN did however unwillingly overlook so far, for some reason.

As for the SOTD, it would be probably a very regular choice from the bulk of the usual wardrobe rotation like any other day, yet also slightly counterbalanced by the fact of not choosing the most plain, familiar and/or uninteresting scents in the personal BN lineup. Rather focusing on the mainly vintage, uncommon, festive etc. ones anyway, almost without any deliberate plan.

So the SOTD chosen for this occasion will probably have quite similar, comparable levels of notes, quality, style, houses/perfumers, performance than the average rotation anyway.

I lucked into wearing something up to the grandeur of the occasion, not having known it was a holiday: Guerlain Habit Rouge.

How’s new Bat? I actually loved the old one, and missed out on buying any as my SO hated it. Wishing I’d picked up one of the 11ml sprays when they were still available. Does it still have the dank, rooty, rotting fruit thing going on?

I’m feeling like it should be something quality, but comforting, too. I’m definitely feeling the need for familiarity at the moment. Let us know what you decide.

I missed out on the old Bat as well since I only got into Zoologist a month ago, sadly. I bought a decant of the old one and am saving it for special occasions but wish I was into this house and got the full bottle when it was available. The new Bat is nice, much less challenging than the old (though I didn't find the old as challenging as people said), and I mostly get soil and guava. No rotting fruit, and more of a stone scent.

I will have to test again with a bigger sample, I think.

Happy national fragrance day! Today is Proraso: Sandalwood aftershave. It was part of an all Proraso Red head shaving from this morning. Don’t think I’m going to add an additional layer of fragrance, but I do find that Diptyque: Tam Dao EDT pairs nicely with the Proraso Red line.

The only related email notice I got was that Macy's has 15% off all beauty, which I presume includes fragrance. Unfortunately I don't think Macy's has anything I want.

Wearing Bat seems ironically appropriate for these crazy times based on the whole COVID-19 virus stuff since the virus apparentlyl started because somebody ate a bat that ate a snake that ate a hedgehog or something like that...

Thanks! Two fragrances left to give away.

Though a proper Fragrance Day celebration involves buying some Spirit Bear. (I haven’t forgotten.)
