If being 100% honest with myself.

I'd say Sauvage EDT, I don't like the fact that I like it, but I like it.
I have a 200ml bottle and use it accordingly, wearing it about twice a week.

Castile is my can't-go-wrong pick for daytime, but it works at night too. Wear it on a lazy Sunday. Wear it to work. Wear it on a date. Wear it while quarantined. It's perfect for any occasion because there's never a wrong time to smell clean - but Castile isn't just clean. It's luxuriously clean with an undertone of sexiness (from the rose & musk, and though they don't list patchouli, I'd swear I get a little from the base).

Castile and 1725 are my dynamic duo. If I had to, I could cut my wardrobe all the way down to just these two scents: Castile for daily wear and 1725 for special occasions.
I think that is because it is so hard to get. No store is holding it so I can try it, I've asked in Facebook groups but no one owns it and can split it. A big Swedish site that carries Penhaligons got a lot of their bottles and samples but not Castile. My alternative for trying it is to order a 100 ml bottle from Penhaligons' English site with about 50% extra just for shipping. I have searched for it for so long since it sounds like it would fit my taste but with no luck. My hunt continues...

Something about Castile clicked with me in a way that nothing else ever has. Like I said, I've been wearing it once every three days since late 2017. I keep expecting to get sick of it, but instead, I enjoy it more. I own lots of scents that have more of a wow factor, but for me, Castile is more like the ultimate comfort scent.

You really like Castile I see. I bought a sample based on your praise for it a while ago, and thought it was ok. Smell wise, pretty average, just smells like most neroli/petitgrain/citrus combos.. the only plus side is it has much better performance.

To be completely honest, that was my first impression too. I went through two samples before I finally committed to a bottle. And I owned a bottle for maybe 3 months before it started to click with me. It wasn't until I realized how good the base is that I got hooked. I mean, yeah, it smelled nice when first sprayed, but so do 1,000,000 other scents. I think the real magic of Castile is what happens after the 3 hour mark.

That's a bit of a theme for scents I praise: the opening is never the best part. I love a great opening, but I neeeeeeed more. I demand more.

Most people, even among the fragrance community, seem to only care about what they smell over the first hour, if not just the opening blast. I wouldn't even pay $10 for a scent with an awesome opening that fades to nothing, or worse, scratchy chemical nonsense. No way. I think there's no excuse for a bad base.

If I could only have one fragrance, I think I would go with Chanel Pour Monsieur. That's not even close to a signature scent, though, that I wear all the time. I've worn it 12 times in the last year.

Is that the EDT or EDP? I have the EDP which I really love. I'm also considering the EDT but wonder if it would be redundant with already having the EDP.

Same here....I get all my kid's stuffed animals gathered around the dinner table and we have a conference. All doused in Office for Men.

And I use Date when I get my blow up doll out of the closet.

The edt. If you're in Europe, or maybe even Canada, it's easy to order online. In the US, Pour Monsieur edt is only sold in airports, I believe. I've tested it in a couple airports, and the current version smells restored close to its vintage glory. Chanel is sort of honest about how good their different versions of Pour Monsieur and No. 19 are: the worse they come out (with the oak moss restrictions), the more green dye they add to let customers know. The formula has gotten way better since 2008 (I have a bottle of that stuff, and it's still a nice fragrance), so they're making it way less green now.

Thanks. I'm in the UK and happily can obtain both the EDT and EDP either in shops or online.

Also, those of you who love Chanel pM, might wanna check out Lancom Trophee, they are strikingly similar, I actually prefer Trophee, because it has a better base. Chanel pM should have more oakmoss in the base like in the older versions. The fake oakmoss base of the later formulations of pM isn't nearly as good imo. Trophee doesn't do the fakemoss, they go more of a tonka/sweet powdery and slightly vanilla route, imo it's much better than fake moss. Fake moss smells like mold to me, and loses that real oakmoss essence. Absolutely worth a gander, if you love CpM, but don't like the base of it anymore.

Nothing wrong with liking it! I gifted my younger brother a bottle and everytime we hang out when he wears it, it projects like a beast and is very enjoyable to smell in the air. Ladies love it as well.
