Default Word of the day - Petrichor Do you enjoy a good rain?

    https://getpocket.com/explore/item/w...can-smell-rain

Petrichor is the smell just before it rains. This is a quick read on the science behind why you can smell rain coming.

I thought this scent was what some fragrances were aiming at with the "fresh, ozonic" labels but maybe not.....

Could Geosmin be the next Ambroxan, or is it already banned by IFRA???

I hope geosmin is the new ambroxan. When combined with other materials, it has a very pleasing mineral quality that would fit many categories

Demeter has a fragrance in its library by that name:

Demeter's Thunderstorm is a more fleshed out version of the Petrichor and Dirt scents. Kind of an odd novelty but it smells shockingly like freshly rained-upon earth. Makes a nice room/linen spray.

Voleur De Roses by L'Artisan contain a hefty dose of that smell - freshly opened grave under the red rose bush after the rain

Love that smell. When in NC, I really enjoy that smell right before a good rail.

I love the actual smell of petrichor. I have tried several perfumes with petrichor/geosmin, and have not cared for a single one.

Had no ideas this had already been used. It seems like it would be a nice "magic in bottle" if it could be reasonably approximated. I'll have to add these on to my "sample search list" and hope to try them sometime. But I wonder if won't end up with jcelello that they come up short....
