    Hello all,

I'm wearing Hermes Terre d'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver.

Did anyone see Army Corps of Engineers General Todd Semonite on TV news last night talking about rapid temporary hospital construction? His leadership a nd focus made me feel hopeful.

    Have a good day.

Glad to hear your husband is feeling a bit better Terry. Not that I wish for your household to have been exposed, but if he does have it, it will allow him to feel more relaxed about going back to work. Lab tests have shown that infection does have at least short-term immunity (we don’t know about long-term yet, but I hope that will be the case as well). I personally look forward to widespread antibody testing, to see how many had it and may already have immunity.

    Encens Mythique for me today.

This morning I wore something that I found at the back of my Wardrobe:

Opium Pour Homme (vintage Eau de Parfum) by YSL

There is so little left of this that at the very bottom of the bottle it's sort of become like a concentrated 'reduction' - I sprayed on one spray (middle of my chest) and I was heavily scented all friggin day. This stuff is nuclear. Just like the woman's. Aldehydes-a-go-go. Wow. I feel like it's probably going to be coming out of my pores tomorrow lol. Now I remember why I don't wear this a lot.

Busy day. But I was able to do Cross Fit after work (video live chat) so I'm happy about that. Hot shower. Made spaghetti and meatballs. A Bulleit Manhattan. And a couple sprays of this new one:

    Triad by Bortnikoff

A very well done rose/oud. Not plain-Jane-rose/oud - this is very well done.

Out of this round of blind buys:

Fate Woman: Definitely a winner but I knew it would be! I own and love Opium which this is often compared and I did smell this very quickly (on paper) many years ago, so not a "true" blind buy. Still, had not much memory of the fragrance so I consider it to be.

Ubar: Lovely fragrance! I only wish it lasted longer on my skin.

Opus X: Very unique rose! I'm glad I chose this over Lyric, though Lyric was tempting too...

Champs Lunaires: Another win! I'm really impressed by Rouge Perfumery and if you love tuberose you should definitely give this a try.

Habanita: Love love love! I wish I found more cheapies like this. Price is excellent for quality and it's such a great, powerful fragrance.

Honour Woman: A very easy to wear fragrance, yet a beautiful one. I don't own too much like this so I'm happy to have it in my collection.

Late to the party, but happy, happy birthday, dear Foustie and sending virtual hugs and other good thoughts to all ((((tdem + hubby)))) and a big YES from me to a tickertape parade in every city that's ever had one for the healthcare workers everywhere.

I used to think I wasn't a big aldehyde fan, but discovered I actually *love* them.

For the sync today, I had two over the course of the day. Started with Chanel No. 22, which is probably my favorite aldehyde scent of all time. Sometimes I think it's too "young" for me - and then I tell myself to shut the f**k up and just work the fragrance.

Tonight, it's Neil Morris Fragrances Le Parfum d'Odette, created for a friend of Neil's who passed away a number of years ago. It's just gorgeous.

I seem to have taken to 'creating' a cocktail when I make it to Friday. Tonight's concoction: The Gingy. Equal parts gin and ginger liqueur, with lemon juice and cardamom bitters.

    Feel-good Friday, everyone!

No. 22 Eau de Parfum fragrance notes: Aldehydes, Lily of the valley, Neroli, Jasmine, Rose, Ylang ylang, Vanilla, Vetiver.

Le Parfum d'Odette fragrance notes: Aldehydes, Green Tea, Honeysuckle, Tuberose, Narcissus, Lilac, Guaiacwood, Musk, Amber.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin...
