    Happy birthday, Tang!

Jon, how are you doing today? The pipe in the photo you posted is truly neat. We're also having a sunny day here, and I'd say it was a sunny week. At least the weather is nice!

Hoping that everyone is doing more or less okay. My left ear started aching yesterday and I'm not going to the doctor during pandemic unless I can't help it, so I'm trying to self medicate with tea tree oil and I'll do some inhalations later while standing over a boiling pot. So far this helps and I hope it continues to help. Outside of that I'm doing just fine.

Wearing Ginger Piccante today, it makes me feel energized and happier.

No perfume yet. The paramedics showed up at 11:30 last night and hauled away my next door neighbour in full protective gear. I live in a building with 45 apartments... will we all be quarantined, tested, or will they do nothing? Very scary. I am in preventive quarantine since Sunday after returning to Canada from the US. Day 6 of 14. No way am I leaving the apartment now.

Hello and best to everyone. ClockworkAlice feel better! (((((Caz))))) how frightening. Stay safe and well.
This is all too much. I feel like we all should be getting combat pay or something. I was talking to my mother in law the other night. When she was a little girl she lived in Italy during WWII, and she said this is every bit as terrifying a time to her.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Jon, thank you so much for the recommendation! I actually haven't tried Epic Woman yet but have been admiring its notes from afar. It looks like there is a high chance I will spend my birthday alone at home doing nothing... so if so, I was highly considering Epic Woman as a gift to myself. Not that I need a reason of course, but thought it would be the perfect pick me up.

Cazaubon, that sounds frightening. Take care of yourself and stay safe!

Today I will be wearing Sunshine Woman by Amouage. I know it has mixed reviews, but I myself love it. It's a happy, bright little fragrance (at least on my skin?) and perfect for trying to distract myself during these times.
    Favorite Houses:
    Hermès
    Rogue Perfumery
    Zoologist
    Amouage
    Frederic Malle
    Serge Lutens

    Loves:
Florals (especially rose, tuberose, cherry blossom, orange blossom, osmanthus, ylang ylang, immortelle, violet, jasmine, plum blossom, heliotrope, and iris)
Orientals (especially spicy, woody, and floral orientals)
    Boozy notes
    Chypres (especially with real oakmoss)
    Rich gourmands
    Animalic fragrances
    Great longevity and sillage

Gosh, Caz, how scary. Talk about bringing the fear to your own doorstep. Stay safe!

Alice's mention of ginger made me reach for my favorite energizer: Vaninger by Oliver & Co. Invariably mood-lifting.

This is the only scent I own that has gotten complimented literally every time I've worn it. I guess today will break its streak, though, since I won't be seeing a single other human being all day.

Cello, it’s so nice to “see” you! I’m impressed by your industriousness. I haven’t made it out of bed yet! I also wanted to thank you for turning me onto No.23 before it was discontinued. And I always remembered how much you love Douce Amere. I finally got a sample a few months ago, and, yeah, it’s amazing

(((caz))) - that really is jarring. Please take care of yourself, physically and emotionally. I’m sending healthy thoughts your way.

I’m doing some sampling, which is a nice escape. 2 full bottles are sitting in my Luckyscent cart already: Robert Greco Oeilleres (an addictive woody/spicy geranium with a surprising filthy note that has foxbin’s name on it, by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato of Parfum d’Empire - not surprising that I love it) and Papillion Artisan Perfumes Anubis (starts as a deep, dark leather and gradually transforms to a dark woody incense - it never goes smoky or tarry on me; it smells like the Carmina Burana O Fortuna sounds). Glorious the both of them.

My eldest got cleared for work yesterday--a couple of days early, but he said he felt perfectly fine so off he went, essential person that he is. I have a dab of vintage Chanel #22 on my wrist to enjoy my garden and birds today.

My neighborhood is having a social distance scavenger hunt from the sidewalk. I've put a small ceramic duck in my front yard so families with children can walk by and try to spot it.

Caz, that's so scary. My thoughts are with you.

ExtremeK, it sounds like I need to get a sample of Oeilleries! Sounds wonderful.

Shycat, I am so happy your son has recovered. And here in Portland there are "Find the Bear" hunts to keep the kids occupied. Unfortunately I haven't got any bears to hide in the yard.

Tdem, is the mister recovering well?

Today I'm wearing Fresh Hesperides edt, not in the directory. This was apparently reformulated as an edp and renamed Hesperides Grapefruit, and that one is in the directory. It's grapefruit, all right, and a nice one, but fading fast. I don't know what I'll wear when it's gone later. It's rainy and a bit cold, but I need to go for a walk nonetheless. Then Yoga with Adrienne this afternoon and baking some cookies.
If you can't smell me from six feet away, I'm not wearing enough.
