    Default Recommend me a fragrance

Hey guys could you recommend me a fragrance? I am looking for something sweet, yet transparent, airy and not cloying. I was thinking of something like creamy, buttery sandalwood or benzoin fragrance. Like Chanel Edition Blanche, but not that citric, or like Reflection Man, but not that "bubblegummy" floral. Or maybe like Rosendo Mateu no. 5 but not that heavy on the florals. Maybe Chanel Bois des Iles?

    Thanks.

Cartier Pasha Parfum (new 2020 release) might be just what you're looking for.

Maybe something like Eau de Santal by Floris would roughly fit the bill.
    Current Top Ten:
    1) Portrait of a Lady original formula (EdP Frédéric Malle)
    2) Jasmin Antique (Rogue Perfumery)
    3) Giorgio for Men vintage (Giorgio Beverly Hills) - tie
    3) Giorgio V.I.P. Special Reserve (Giorgio Beverly Hills) - tie

    5) Dia pour Homme vintage edt (Amouage)

    6)
Anat Fritz and its reissue, called Classical (Anat Fritz)
    7) Captain vintage (Molyneux)
    8) Javanese Patchouli (Zegna) - tie
    8) Monsieur de Givenchy vintage (Givenchy) - tie
    8) Polo vintage (Ralph Lauren) - tie

When you say transparent, I'm thinking about the Hermes Hermessences. I think they have a couple that are sweetish and airy, like Santal Massoia.
Bois des Isles would certainly be good-the current edp isn't that heavy, though it's not transparent either.

Possibly also Chanel Egoiste, Creed Original Santal, Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood (ideally the vintage formulation, if not, still recommending the current one as fairly decent and accurate rendition of the initial version)

Thanks for the recommendations. I own Egoiste, but I am looking for something less spicy and more vanillic I guess? Someone recommended me APOM by MFK, could be also worth checking.

Oh, then go with Geo. F. Trumper Sandalwood Cologne! It could be described as British Egoïste, with gorgeously rich Mysore sandalwood and a vanillic drydown. Wonderful stuff.

Maybe something from Guerlain 's L' art et la Matiere line, possibly Tonka Imperiale or Cuir Beluga, maybe even Angelique Noire.

I'd recommend you to go read reviews and articles on the various perfume sites and blogs, and order some samples of the ones you think you might like...

Excellent call about the Hermessences Cacio. Ellena is maybe the perfumer that knows better how to work “transparency” in perfumes. I would add Rose Ikebana.

I ignored the notes he asked for when recommending Rose Ikebana. My bad. For a nice sweet benzoin scent (despite I don’t find it heavy, it’s not transparent either), try Cologne des Missions, by Le Couvent des Minimes. All these requests + combination of notes makes recommendations way harder. These notes are usually found in more deep and dense fragrances, specially if you want them to be prominent.

I would add Dior Homme and Dior Homme Intense to the list of suggestions, the original formulations of both would be preferable.

+1 APOM Beautiful and orange blossom note that's best I've seen. Touch pricey.

+1 also that new Cartier Pasha Parfum especially for it's sandalwood note.

+1 Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood excellent smooth straight sandalwood.
