Default "Can easily be compared to Black Afghano..." and it costs around $12 per 100 ml!

The name of the sccent is Nissan Oudy, and the apparent official site declares:

"Nissan Oudy is a fragrance that aims to to arouse the effects of temporary bliss. Can easily be compared to Black Afghano which evokes the effects of the best quality of Hashish..." Anyone try this one?

I'm sure it's just like Bentley Absolute that is totally comparable to Gucci Pour Homme I, or MAC Heroine that's totally comparable to Tom Ford's Noir Anthracite, or the famous Spongebob Square Pants Mr. Krabs that's totally comparable to Creed's Aventus (Or maybe it's viking). My point is that none of them are actually comparable besides maybe a vague resemblance if you're drunk and squint your eyes.

I think you need to clarify your post a bit. It depends on the expectation, is one looking for a clone? If so, does it clone the perfume or it is a play on the idea? In the former case, one could argue that budget could supposedly induce some restrictions, even though exceptions abound; in the latter case, it is useful to purveyors of particular accords, aromachemicals or themes, and additionally it is handy to those interested in lineages in general, even if just for the purpose of contextualization.

Some may even prefer this super-cheapo to Black Afghano!

Sure, I have to keep up my reputation as king of the super-cheapos, don't I? LOL. I ordered a bottle so I'll update when I receive it.

To be honest, have had very good experiences with many super cheapos at least so far and see no reasons why there shouldn't be any further hidden gems within affordable price ranges.

I've found Al Haramain Oudh 36 Nuit Afghan to be fairly close for about $80 (I think it's 75ml). A lot pricier than $12/100ml, but the quality is there and justifies the price.

Well I haven't tried BA so I might like a super-cheapo that doesn't smell much like it yet dislike BA. For me it's a price issue mainly, and $80 isn't going to work for me.

I can't find the pyramid for this one.
Is it different from Oudh 36 Nuit? Or is it the same juice, just a limited edition with "Afghan" added to name?

I think it's the same scent.

Al Haramain Oudh 36 Nuit Afghan

This sensual aroma opens with notes of cedar, cardamom and geranium. Oud, rose and saffron make up the heart of the fragrance and deepen the inherent floralcy while balancing the sweetness with the rich, smoky scent of oud.
Didn't know Oud 36 Nuit is a Black Afghano clone.
Hmm! Pyramids don't look much alike.
    Love it.
It's not yet added here on Basenotes.

I could have (blind) bought Black Afghano cheap. But it's not loved around here - it has a lot of negative reviews.

That website has the notes wrong (I think those are the ones for the original Oudh 36, but I could be wrong.) The only place I found notes listed was sniffperfumes.com and they listed the same notes that Fragrantica has for Black Afgano. I haven't seen the notes listed anywhere else and even the Al Haramain website doesn't list a lot of the newest releases or limited editions.

Also, it's not to be confused with the original Oudh 36 Nuit. It's just under that subset, just as Oudh 36 Elixir, the Tuscan Leather clone, is under the Oudh 36 - completely different scents (limited editions).

Just saw this other supposed BA clone, though at $34.50 plus tax it's not a super-cheapo, to my way of thinking:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Oud-Muataq-...EAAOSw0fZdwPFz

The notes listed are (not that it necessarily matters):

"Top Notes: Bergamot, oregano and pepper ambergris

    Heart Notes: Incense, myrrh leather

    Base Notes: Oudh, smoke, sandalwood"

Bentley Absolute has been blended by Almairac himself, admitting himself that it was very similar to GPHI.

As for the other 2, I agree that they have nothing in common with their "reference fragrances".

Black Afghano is a stiff proposition scent-wise as is. Gotta be in a specific mood for something like that, regardless of price.

Was about to write the same......Almairac maybe left some notes out but creating that way something at least 85-90% similar made me buy 2x 100ml Bentley Absolute as Gucci pour homme is at least 10-15x more expensive now.......Very happy with the stuff!

My least favorite Nasomatto. Pass for me. But I would be glad to know anything similar to the others of the brand. Or from Orto Parisi (from the same perfumer).

I noticed the cars first: why would 'Nissan' perfumes feature non-Nissan cars on its website?

Alas, it is a Temptation International product based out of India. Might be a gem in there somewhere but I am not willing to wade to find it.

It came in the mail today. I found it at Scentedmonkey for $8.28 as I was putting together an order for the free shipping, so that worked out well. I applied it about ten minutes ago. At first I got tonka, somewhat syrupy, nothing unpleasant/harsh, no "chemical" or synthetic qualities, very simple (almost a bit coffee-ish, like weak coffee and milk, perhaps). I'll update if there are changes, but I'd say it's a prodcut worth $8 for 100 ml (bottle looks nice but is plastic) and more or less unisex.

UPDATE: Now I'm getting something like Vanilla Birch by C.O.Bigelow or Mahogany Woods by B&BW, so I think it's good value, but I can't imagine BA smelling much like this!

LOL. a PRODCUT for $8/100 ml. We're having profit of it smelling good. Smelling like Black Afgano will be like an ultra-mega-extra-bonus. Maybe there's one in the line that smells like the alcohol of the whiskey of Baraonda.

Jokes aside, people say Pardon smells like LIDGE. Sincerely, I don't get it.
