To echo what others have already said, thank you very much, and pass it on to those you work with please.

But I'd like to say something else, if that's okay with everyone.

Newfound as it may be, your refreshingly honest, totally humble, and very well written entry is a reminder to be thankful for our small pleasures in life. But also to be thankful for all of the people and systems around us that tick every day and make us able to experience such pleasures at all.

The world is not a perfect place, but it is still beautiful. You just have to be willing to look for it. Thank you for reminding us what good looks like.

Appreciate the thoughtful post. Very timely too. Particularly that awareness on the tendency to auto-pick between COVID-19/non-COVID-19 & missing out other potentially life threatening diagnoses. Just yesterday we lost a young man a day after he was screened for COVID-19 and discharged.

Nadeem, that was a very thoughtful (blog) post.
I belong to the group (ICU) who takes patients off the hands of ED physicians.
And these Covoid-19 rule outs are a huge burden in ICUs.
But, we always discuss with ED physicians-- even if the first PCR comes back negative, if the ED and ICU doc felt it was strong suspicion, we do more testing.
We do rely on ED's perception. Last week, we had 3 patients when it was the (3rd test) endotracheal aspirate which came back positive. Imagine if the isolation had been taken off, and other healthcare workers had been exposed.

By the way, hang in there-- one day at a time.

That was a great read. Thanks for sharing. This is most definitely a time to reevaluate and reprioritize certain aspects of our lives. I'm also reminded that often a full life is summarized by the small things, be it a song, a smile or a scent.
