Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Morning all, & the happiest of Birthdays to dear Sea Roses! Hope all is well with you, sweetheart.

l have a day off, & although it's a little rainy here today, l'm synching in Jasmin Full, to illustrate The Isley Brothers' wonderful "Summer Breeze". Surely the best summertime song ever written.

Bel Ami this a.m., maybe Carthusia Aria di Capri later.

Foxbins, Seattle is a contender in my fantasies. What with C-19, Barneys closing, Neiman Marcus declaring bankruptcy, and a shop like Twisted Lily shuttering its storefront, I don't know how we make plans in advance to do a group meet. Not that it makes a lick of difference to us, but I just read that Victoria's Secret is also closing some of its outlets.

Hello, all you wonderfully scented people, and happiest of birthdays to our dear SeaRoses!

Weather has finally gotten beautiful in the Boston area today - Glorious sunshine and the promise of an 80-degree (F, of course!) day. Very excited. Probably going to be doing a hand sanitizer donation pick-up at one of our local hospitals later, and have a bunch of Zoom get-togethers with friends planned for the weekend. And, of course, already thinking about wine o'clock!

In sync with Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Euterpe.

She's the muse of music and lyrical poetry.

Wishing a fabulous Friday to everyone.

Euterpe Notes: Carnation, white poppy, honeysuckle, lemon, iris and white musk.

    Happy Birthday, dear Sea Roses!

I'm wearing Badgley Mischka (original). Peach, osmanthus, and patchouli for days. It has a very 80s feel and is the furthest thing from a shy flower.

When I gave my impressions of Champs Lunaires in the Rogue Sample Pass thread (in the GFD forum), I said that CL was too serious and I like my BWFs with a bit of side-eye and a wink. Well, that's Badgley Mischka. In spades. Anyone who takes this fragrance seriously vs just enjoying the fun ride is completely missing the point. I can't help but grin (not smile) when I wear Badgley Mischka.

So I have to go with something by Madonna. Probably "Material Girl."

Going with Frederic Malle's Music for a While for the sync!
    Loves:
Florals (especially rose, tuberose, cherry blossom, orange blossom, osmanthus, ylang ylang, immortelle, violet, jasmine, plum blossom, heliotrope, and iris)
Orientals (especially spicy, woody, and floral orientals)
    Boozy notes
    Chypres (especially with real oakmoss)
    Rich gourmands
    Animalic fragrances
    Great longevity and sillage

Givenchy Encens Divin. For the sync, "Incense & Peppermint" anyone? Minus the peppermint... I know, it's a stretch.

    Hello all,

It’s been a busy time and now covid. Hope you are all well and safe.

Thank you so much for the lovely wishes N.Cal, teardrop, Terry, John, ComDiva and ExtremeK.

This hobby is so addictive. And it always excites. About to fall down the rabbit hole again with Anna Zworykina. Arggg.

Currently wearing Gardenia by Isabey, as its probably my favourite interpretation. But given the sync will no doubt wear Sahara Noir and alternate between listening to Leonard Cohen and George Michael💔

Fabulous Mendittorosa did a perfume called Ithaka after my little island and I’m thrilled to bits.

Here’s a short clip of why I’m a bit homesick at the moment.
