Good morning all !. Happy Birthday L'Homme Blanc Individuel

24th May is a date that will always be special for me too and still remains firmly imprinted in the memory many years after the event. True story - a very young and impressionable railway worker (guess who ) had just started training at Doncaster works (birthplace of The Flying Scotsman / Mallard etc) and had only been in place for a couple of days when a colleague informed him that a Hollywood legend from the golden era was passing through the station later in the day. Said colleague had a reputation for being a wind-up merchant so I took it with a pinch of salt, suspicious of an attempt to make the new boy look daft. However, quite a few headed over to the station and I decided to tag along just for the hell of it. Imagine the surprise when not only did the rumour turn out to be true, I actually got to say hello and shake his hand. He is still my mum's favourite actor to this day so she was especially envious. I would love to see what guesses people come up with so please indulge me and I will reveal all later

    Any ideas ???.

    Happy Sunday to you all.

Jon, nice story - you are a tease!
Was it Cary Grant or Gregory Peck maybe?

I am feeling so much more positive this week after
meeting both sons (separately) in the local park for
a picnic. So lovely to see them again after nearly eight
    weeks of lockdown.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Hello all,

ExtremeK your post yesterday made me laugh Was always a nocturnal creature and often can read until dawn. Or binge watch now things I love. Rewatchimg tennis matches through the night currently that at the time I was too tense watching, as I’m a huge Nole fan. Re wanting to travel again ( beautiful photographs here helping that ) ... I’m longing to get back to China, Korea and Cuba. Had to travel a fair bit in the last six months and loved loved the Netherlands and the Skandy countries. Spent two weeks in Paris over Christmas, and yes had to walk everywhere but it’s still the most magical city. Greece is a given as two months was the longest I ever went without visiting. This is the longest I have ever been away from Greece. Probably the first Easter I’ve missed in over a decade. My homesickness is very real and at times very very difficult for me. Have a very close friend here and he’s struggling as well. We’re both movie freaks and we both try to find something to watch to cheer the other one up That and doing zoom sing and dancing competitions doing ...pet shop boys and George michael.

Quarry hope all is going well. Building sites and myself. OMG.

N.CAL in winter I sleep witth the windows open. When I lived in China I would often wake up with snow on the bottom of my bed. Just not a hot weather person.

John I’m guessing Sean Connery or Stewart Granger.

Scent to be determined. Wore Shel el Nessim last night. It’s so so beautiful. Oh grossmith I love this house so so much. Talk about magical carpet ride perfumes.

Have a great Sunday all and stay very safe. Oh and remember to stretch!!!!! It’s so so good for you.

    Jon -- Jimmy Stewart?

I scoured your post for clues, and first thought 'the Flying Scotsman' indicated Sean Connery, but he's hardly from the Golden Era. Hard to guess without knowing your mum's age. In my book Golden Era = pre-1955.

(Please say it isn't John Wayne.)
