    Default FLEUR DE MALE...anything similar?

Recently obtained a sample of fleur de male, which i had a bottle of years ago,and I still really enjoy, couple of sprays and lasts all day.
My wife likes it also, however Ive seen a few reviews saying it has a sort of pee smell or dirty smell about it,now to be honest that puts me off, even though i dont really get that from it,seems like its discontinued here in the uk.
Does anyone know of anything that perhaps smells similar but not with a dirty side to it?
Would be grateful for any views, thank you.

    Pretty unique IMO.

Especially this, plus also certain aspects of some masculine Diors with a floral vanillic note, including Fahrenheit 32 and a few DH flankers

Try Aromatics In Black by Clinique. I think they're similar (not identical).

agree, can I ask do you think its ok for a man to wear, and would you say theres a dirty or animalic smell about it in a similar way to kouros,i personally dont think so but ive seen a few reviews saying this and it puts me off wearing it a bit if its true.

It's pretty unique, maybe Serge Lutens' Fleurs de Citronnier scratches that orange blossom itch, just not as skanky as Fleur du Male.

can i ask why you call it skanky I really dont get that from it,i mean kouros makes me gag and I just cant wear it,but I love fleur de male

Skanky because that's the sentiment I associate with heavy white florals. Others may interpret it as a urinal accord like you mention. I do love white florals, but their concentration in Fleur du Male pushes the limit for me.

I just smelled my bottle of Fleurs de Citronnier and it did conjure some of Fleur du Male to me, but I'd have to get both on separate wrists and my Fleur du Male bottle is in storage somewhere...

The first time I smelled Amouage Reflection Man I instantly thought Fleur du Male.

Indeed. Nothing close I've ever tried. Francis Kurkdjian could be daring in his own brand like he was for Jean Paul Gaultier.

    PS: It's out of production.

Same.. but then I realized they're a bit different. Still though, probably the closest comparison I could think of. Everyone I have recommended Reflection Man to as a floral orange blossom men's frag, has been grateful. I think OP would probably enjoy this one too.

I have a 2013 bottle of FDM. Must be one of the last bottles made. I have to say that it's lost a bit of it's potency. Something in the composition has gone a bit off.
The orange blossom note is not what it used to be and resembles Lemale more than anything now. I guess some fragrances need to be consumed more quickly than others.

I love Fleur de Male and will snap up a bottle, if a cheap one ever presents itself, but when I stumbled upon this I immediately though it a decent substitute.

It's not identical but scratches the same itch so to speak...!

    I get a similar vibe from Seville a l‘Aube by l‘Artisan Parfumeur.

    Interesting.
What you describe sounds suspiciously like the La Cologne version of Fleur du Male...

I really loved this one back in the day. I do wish Francis Kurkjian would be a little more daring for his own house. Don’t get me wrong, I have a few of his that I truly love(absolue pour le soir, Oud silk) but I’d love to see him go full on like he has for JPG, MDCI or even Narciso.

Right. I am worried now about my bottle, I have not worn it in years. Unfortunately I can't get to it now. Planning on buying a new bottle to compare.
