    Default Polarizing summer scent recommendations?

I understand that my request is borderline oxymoron; however, I'm looking for a more polarizing scent that could be geared towards high heat.

    Thank You.

First thing that comes to mind is Byredo Pulp. At first, I thought I might even love it - but that overripe fruit bowl vibe was just too unrelenting for me - and I would suspect for many others.

ETA: a couple others from the nose of J.C. Ellena that I happen to love - but could repel some due to their cumin / cardamom notes being interpreted as body odor are: Cartier Declaration Essence + Hermes Terre Eau Tres Fraiche.

What does modern day kouros smell like to you?

I generally like everything I blind buy, but I've been going back and forth on this one.

Smells magnificent! The heavy dose of musk and civet smells cold here unlike their usual nature, which is why it's so unique to me. Current version holds up well, it could easily pass as a niche and be sold for 200. I never recommend blindbuys, but do try it.

Do you know of any place that actively has testers of this fragrance?

Man, I guess it is pretty easy to find a store with Kouros testers. I've found some even here in Brazil!

Perhaps Terre d'Hermes? If not this perhaps one of its flankers.

Speaking of Kouros, Kouros Fraicheur and Eau de Sport are both nice variations that amp up the fresher elements, making them more suitable for summer than Kouros.

Change the word 'polarizing' to 'intriguing', and here are my recommendations -

Kouros (it's the best in summers)
    Kiehl's Musk
Givenchy Insense (if you can find it, better on summer evenings that days)
    Leather Oud
    Azuree
    Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Men
    Guerlain Homme Intense / EdP
Eau d'Hermes (needs to be over-applied though)
    Amouage Gold Man
    Ambre Sultan
    Arabie
    L'Air du Desert Marocain

In my experience florals, musks (animalic or not), dry-resinous scents do well in hot weather.

Two that smell lovely and work great in summers but are not so much intriguing or edgy -

    Aqua Vitae Forte
    Un Jardin Sur Le Nil

+1 on Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche, Odeur 71, Grey Flannel (and I'd suggest Rien instead of Rien Intense Incense).

Great suggestions so far. But in my opinion, some of the best polarizing summer scents are winter scents, namely orientals that bloom beautifully in the heat.

Re: Kouros, I have never seen testers in the US, but they are pretty common in Europe. The current is lighter than the old, and so perhaps ok for the summer.

For serious polarizing, how about Bentley for Men Intense? I don't know about warm weather as it smells like burnt crap in all weather to me. But it seems to be split very near 50-50 every debate on it so definitely polarizing. Wait for a couple more wear attempts and you can buy my bottle!!!

Bright sharp green smells with a noticeable floral like carnation.

    Lauder for Men (1985)

    GFF Uomo (1997)
    Parfums de Marly Lipizzan (2010)
    Diptyque Geranium Oderata (2014)

They should get people staring, but are still pleasant in heat.
