    Default Mancera Red Tobacco

Should I or shouldn't I? I love a good tobacco fragrance, but I want to know more about this one.. In fact, I have this one I'm interested in, along with Carolina Herrera Mystery Tobacco.

    Any feedback would be appreciated

Prior formulations that I had tested had a very explosive sillage and longevity that amazed me. In very small doses, I liked the scent. But full-on sprays... it would definitely fill the room.

Not my style of scent (I like a more hushed projection) but definitely a good smell.

I'd say go for it if you like bold scents. I just have no experience with any current formulations - some have stated that it's less loud now.

I get no tobacco from this one just very sweet with a mix of notes but overall very sweet with a prolonged opening that takes a long time to reach the dry down. Order a sample and decide best way with this one imo.

I like Red Tobacco, but I know it's not for everyone. I don't think it's a typical tobacco fragrance from what I remember of it. And it's pretty loud. I don't think it's a good blind buy.

Red Tobacco is nothing like 'red tobacco', but more like a blob of bland brown sugar.

    I gave it a 1.5 out of 5.

It has many fans here though.

When you say you like tobacco fragrances, can you give a few examples?

Atomic. Sweet. 1 tiny spritz from a sample is as strong as like 8 sprays from an average full bottle. No reason to ever be that strong. Maybe if i needed people to smell me from 10 feet away outside at a windy bonfire it might be useful, even then its probably a single sprayer. Doesnt smell like pipe tobacco or anything. Chemical.

Name a couple of tobacco scents you really like and the "tobacco" experts can weigh in as to the MANCERA.

Some like a scent with bold, realistic tobaccos note; others like a more stylized tobacco. RED TOBACCO is more stylized...

typical sweet cinnamon aroma but nose blinding and infinitely diffusive. for people who consider performance above all other factors. but then you may as well poop your pants for great projection & longevity.

mystery tobacco on the other hand is lovely and the best 'tobacco' scent i've smelled so far. both fresh and dirty with the tobacco and just the right amount of fruityness.

Mystery Tobacco is unique. A very "Tom Ford"-y take on tobacco (those dark synthwoods!) but without Tom Ford's usual "Get a load of this!" bombast; it's dark and dry with a nice cigar tobacco note. It's not at all a gourmand, though it has a light sweetness to offset the tobacco.

Mystery Tobacco was ultimately a bit too linear and straightforward for me, but it's hard to think of anything else that does tobacco the same exact way.

I personally love Red Tobacco. Its definitely one of the strongest frags I've ever used performance wise - my wife smelled it walking in the door and I was in the basement the first time I wore it. That was with TWO sprays under my shirt.

I get a very nice, not too-sweet, fruity tobacco with a darker oud and some cinnamon and incense spicing it up. The opening, in all honesty, is pretty bombastic and not entirely pleasant, but the drydown is sublime IMO.

I agree with this as well and I really love this stuff but can imagine others do not as you have to love (modern) powerhouse like fragrances with this one for sure.
I also get some vanilla in the drydown which is way way better than the mishmash opening. Key is to wear this in moderation otherwise you ruin the experience!

If you've sampled it and like it, buy it.

This one is very potent, however. Can probably get by with just one spray.

To me it is tobacco, candy apple, nutmeg, saffron and cinnamon. The tobacco is the unsmoked cigarette variety. Can get lost in the sweetness but it is there.

Big fan here, perfect for those occassions when you want something BIG and overwhelming to the senses. Smells fantastic once you accept that this is a loud obnoxious fragrance.

You don't get any vanilla out of this (especially later drydown)?

Yup. Happened to me. Poop. Everywhere.

I got the same...a medicinal cinnamon/cherry that was too much to handle for my schnoze. Red Tobacco is textbook beast mode.

Yes you’re right, eventually the vanilla becomes more noticeable. Its such a complex fragrance with development over many hours. But Looking at the note order in Fragrantica, I would not have thought vanilla should be second, it pops out in the deep drydown for me.

The power-house levels of cinnamon, saffron and (green?) tobacco of Red Tobacco may be challenging for some, but it works for me.

interesting i'm just sampling Armani's Cuir Majeste today and this is in the ballpark of Red Tobacco but way better. has that sugary, smoked fruit thing going on but to a level where you can smell whats going on and so much smoother.

I would definitely choose Mystery Tobacco over this, I think it's just a better tobacco fragrance, less sweet and bombastic, but still plenty powerful and easy to enjoy.
