Default Eau Sauvage Parfum 2017 and Beau de Jour Signature

Felt that BdJ reminded me of something else. Today I tested it alongside ES Parfum 2017 and was struck by to my nose, a strong similarity.

Am I alone or does anyone else experience the same?

I have both but neither of them remind me of the other. It might be the lavender? Or some type of citrus note.

Yeah, not feeling it. It's interesting how we perceive fragrances differently.

Very, very different to my nose aside from the lavender. The citron and elemi in the Dior make it really distinct from BdJ imo.

In fairness I was smelling both out of the cap...

I think they have a similar vibe but don't smell the same.

I did think Eau Sauvage Parfum smelt very similar to MFK Masculin Pluriel though

Yeah, similar sort of vibe. Oriental basenotes, genre or category-bending fragrances that take something from fougeres and something from chypres to create something new again. Similar shades in some places but still largely different fragrances - related, though, certainly in some 'stylistic' senses, but not the most obvious comparison to make.

Beau de Jour is living up to its role as "Rive Gauche 2.0" by becoming the new Rorschach blot of fougeres. It resembles everything and nothing.

    Personally don't get that similarity.

Never sensed much similarity either, maybe apart from some citrus and/or further "male universal" basic notes found in most masculines, especially in comparable/similar scents from a (likely) quite similar first release year/age
