Good morning everyone... Last evening the bf actually made me cry by breaking my new bottle of Winterpalace. The entire apartment now smells of it and I am really upset and angry with him. He promised to by me a new one, though.... In the meantime I guess my sotd /scent of the house is Winter palace. When I've showered I will probably wear Chypre Siam, though.

ineespenes - oh sorry to hear, broken bottles are no fun

I woke up later than normal (it felt so good to sleep in) so no running/walking yet...I'm still having coffee and scent-free (although I can still smell the Shalimar from last night). Reading that N Cal Frag Reviewer is wearing Irisss put me in the mood for something like that one, but I own so little iris prominent scents now. I really need another go-to iris in my wardrobe. Maybe I'll get some Infusion d'Homme from eBay soon, I loved that one when I owned it.

I'll post my SOTD later, when I've had more coffee and decided...

ExtremeK, your new neighborhood sounds like my idea of the perfect urban environment. I lived in the French Quarter of New Orleans for many years, and always thought that was the ideal situation, especially for people as they age: ground floor shops, upstairs living quarters, balconies overlooking the streets, and sprinkled with occasional single-family dwellings. It eliminates car-dependence and encourages neighborly connections and walkability. I resent being dependent on a car in my current small-town residence.

Today might be one of our last spring days before the summer heat and humidity set in this coming week. I'll mark it with a springish chypre -- vintage "Y" by Yves Saint Laurent.

    Congrats ComDiva!

Ineespenses sorry about your bottle. A really good friend introduced me to Memo and I love this house.

ExtremeK , didn’t know you were moving. Hope all goes well. Personally am caught up in lockdown in England, as came back here to sort out ‘things’

Wearing Jardins de Kerylos by Pierre Guillaume Just before Christmas I was in Printemps and seeing what was new and there was Pierre Guillaume perfumes in their own area. Was absolutely thrilled this fabulous house finally recognised. But then it is France !!!!

His own boutique in Paris is just stunning. Took his candles as Christmas gifts to friends for Christmas lunch. That went down very well.

Hope all are staying safe. Staying in lockdown here and watching tennis matches that I marvel at.....next one the six hour marathon AO between Nadal and NOLE🌟Longest grand slam in history. Bought myself a beautiful perfume after NOLE won. If it had been Nadal I promised myself 20 bottles. It’s how I collect. If NOLE wins one beautiful perfume. If he loses explore a new house.

Ineespenes, I am so sorry about your bottle.

ComDiva, congrats to your son on his achievement!

I am wearing my latest acquisition, La Nuit parfum. The sprayer is a little wonky, but the scent is still oh so good. I'm wearing about 4 half-sprays and it's wonderful, I don't think I'd want to wear any more.

    Finally picked my SOTD:

Ambre Stone by L’Atelier Français des Matières

One of the 'real ambergris' fragrances to jump on the hype train. It's lovely. But I went to a local park, to get some sun, and I think most of it burnt away in the heat. Once I take a midday shower I'll reapply more so I can get a better sense of it.

Trilby Lark - I missed reading that you're doing house renovations and have workers in your house. Good luck with that. What are you renovating?

Oh, (((ine))), I'm sorry to hear about your bottle. I'm glad you'll be getting a replacement, and I echo teardrop -- he knows how much fragrance means to you. I imagine he feels terrible about it, too.

Thank you for the kind well-wishes about my upcoming move. I'm in packing hell, but at least I smell good! I'm wearing 6 sprays from my decant of Twilly. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I feel about this one. That probably means I'll enjoy the decant but pass on a full bottle.

We visited New Orelans for the first time in early January and really enjoyed it. We stayed in the French Quarter. It's so charming; you must have really enjoyed living there and taking in all that wonderful music! David and I walked all over it, and he fell in love. The goal of our neighborhood's developers is in fact to create the kind of environment you're describing, and it's exciting to see how many people are moving in.
