Default Best Creed that not Aventus

My better half really likes Aventus. But she is not a perfume person per se. She also loves Acqua Di Parma Colonia.

I like Aventus but one of my colleagues wears it all the time. Want something I am not going to smell on someone else...

    Thinking of

    A) Creed GIT
    B) Creed Viking
    C) Creed Erolfa
    D) Creed Millesime Imperial

    Longevity is important to me.

    Appreciate in advance any recommendations

My two favorite Creeds are the one I'm wearing right now, and Royal Oud - which is my favorite fragrance, period. Aventus comes in third

Easily Green Irish Tweed. Bois Du Portugal and Millesime Imperial are also good. Just be sure to seek out the older bottles from 10+ years ago to get better quality batches.

    GIT versatility and lasts long.
Erolfa is one of my favourite Creeds, so unique but not overly practical for day to day, season to season.
Millesime imperial and Neroli Sauvage dry down is so smooth and comfortable but not bold like Aventus.
Longest lasting Creed for me is Original Santal and Original Vetiver. Vetiver lasts 12+ hours.
Weakest Creed for me is Viking.

    So GIT and Original Santal?
Both of these share a boldness and presence like Aventus.
Beauty is in the nose of the beholder.

My personal favourite is Erolfa. It's a great marine scent that is fairly natural and not aquatic, and the only Creed I have a large decant of. The rest I can live without.

Its so good. But MAN - the difference between the modern juice and the vintage is striking.

I sprayed several sprays of some early 90s juice on my torso and forearms this morning and reveled in it all day. Glorious scent cloud, deep and rich. But after 9 hours or so, it had started to fade a little bit, so I refreshed with a couple sprays from a decant of a 2018 batch. BIG difference. The current stuff is way more screechy and synthetic in the opening, and nowhere near as deep and decadent in the drydown.

Hunt down vintage BdP if you are at all able and enjoy this frag - it is so worth it.

GIT is quite classic and not very commonly worn. It didn't have good longevity on me, but your mileage may vary.

Since you're sort of an "AVENTUS guy," GIT and ROYAL OUD are probably the best candidates for you among available CREEDs.

Unsurprising, since it has become a mainstream fragrance given how much it sells.

For my tastes (based on smell only), I like Viking, Jardin d'Amalfi and Vetiver Geranium. As a distant 4th, also Erolfa, and even more distant 5th Royal Oud.

Given the price point, the only bottle worthy ones for me are Viking or Vetiver Geranium, and only if I find these hard discounted (= under $150 for a 100ml bottle). Recently bought a partial of Erolfa, but already bored of it tbh.

I love Aventus. It’s my number one. Second would be MI and Aventus Cologne.

Out of your choices I’d say Viking. I’m not a fan of GIT, seems too old mannish to me. Don't like MI and it doesn’t last too long. I do enjoy Erolfa but it doesn’t last too long either. Viking is nice and lasts a good 7-10 hours on my skin. I think my favorite Creed is Spice & Wood. Followed up second by maybe Royal Oud.

You can never go wrong with Aventus - I'd say, buy every batch like I do (normally 3-5 bottles a day)...
