Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Saturday, 6th June, 2020

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Hi all,

Ithaka by Mendittorosa. So VERY homesick at the moment. At least Odysseus got to travel around and see things on the way home. And probably swam around in the sea and ate nice food.

Watched clips of the blood sport in the US of black, elderly , disabled people being beaten up is horrific.

Have lots of jobs to do. Will put George michael on and then probably buy more perfume.

    Happy birthday, Asha!

Sea Roses, I hope you can go back home soon. Stay strong. Have you already decided which perfumes you want to get or are you going to get something spontaneously?

The things happening in USA right now are very scary. I hope you all stay safe, American friends.

I'm wearing Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune today... over Alaïa body cream I recently got as a gift, and honestly, the body cream overpowers my SOTD. I shall regard it as a proper perfume from now on.

To my dear BN friends outside the U.S., thank you for thinking our about situation here. I know we don't want to tiptoe to the edge of discussing politics overtly in this forum, but it helps so much to at least to be able to acknowledge the stress of living in maddening times when one feels a sense of menace from a variety of sources and a loss of control, the reminders of which seem inescapable on a daily basis. Ryan, you may express your frustration by talking about delayed furniture delivery, and I might absolutely lose my mind over quack grass (for real), but I think we're just giving our pain some direction.

Jon, I think you've shared this engrossing photo before. Let's hop in the Tardis and enter that scene for a lark.

Back later after a shower, a scent, and settling in for sci-fi Saturday.

Hello and best to everyone. Happy birthday Asha!

I can only echo what Quarry already eloquently expressed, but I can also add my thanks to our dear friends overseas for your caring and concern for the nightmarish conditions here.

SOTD is Comme des Garçons Stephen Jones. Hugs to all. Xo

No you are not the only one on the planet thinking WTF is that. I will direct my anger at the overgrown hedge today, à la Quarry.

Sorry to hear of people's inconvenience.

The death toll from the pandemic is rising in my county, but no one I know has died, yet.

No one I know has been beaten or killed, either.

    So I'm good.

    Evening all!

Hugs to everyone who needs one. l must admit l avoid watching too much of the news lately, & l feel all the calmer for it. However, although l completely understand the demonstrations taking place, l do worry about the spike in infections that will inevitably follow...

lt's chilly, grey & windy here today. l spent a long time giving myself another haircut this afternoon, so l've only just got around to a SOTD. Draining my sample of Black Flower Mexican Vanilla.

Sampling Fetish by Neil Morris today. Yesterday I tried Cafe by NM also, a lovely coffee/dark chocolate/sweet-cream cozy type of scent, really made me crave a vanilla latte. I did not detect any pumpkin in it unfortunately.

    Sea Roses, what Jon said.

    Happy Birthday to Asha!

I expect I will lemming Jon for my SOTE, but had a nice surprise today... Digging through my collection looking for a fragrance I wasn't sure I had, I discovered I'd actually manage to purchase (and forget about) something I didn't think I had - and which has since become discontinued. So I'm sharing the house with Staticx in the lovely Miller Harris Geranium Bourbon.

    Serene-if-possible Saturday, everyone!

P.S. Mike, how are you feeling?

Geranium Bourbon fragrance notes: Turkish rose, Geranium, Palmarosa, French violet, Blackcurrant, Black pepper, Vanilla, Amber, Patchouli.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson
