Got some Xerjoff samples and of course had to try 2. On my left arm is Pikovaya Dama-wow, this is interesting. My first thought when I sprayed and sniffed was how much it reminded me of the Russian/Greek orthodox churches my mother took me to when I was a kid. I've had it on for 2.5 hours, I don't know how I feel about it now. I tried Naxos on my right arm- this is beautiful, subtle on me.

Never tried Pikovaya Dama myself, I think that's part of the 17/17 stone label collection. What are ones will you be trying? My favorite from Xerjoff is Irisss.

Hi everyone, and thank you for your warm greetings! I've missed you all too. I always seem to be running out of time, so I don't hang out as much, but I'm always around here and there as a lurker. Today I wore VC&A Midnight in Paris EDP layered with The Body Shop Vitamin E body butter (which smells of roses). It was a good combo, as iris and rose are complementary--a rose-tinted flanker of MIP would have been great. I love Olivier Polge's work...so sad this beauty was discontinued.

It is indeed part of that collection. I just went and read the story about the Dama on Lucky Scent, while I don't think it is for me, having grown up in Russian culture, this scent nails it, I'm truly impressed. Might gift to my mother.

Irisss is high on my list, got this set lightly used to save money, hoping to find an Irisss in a set soon.

Trilby Lark, I adore Mimosa & Cardamom! I have met few mimosas that I didn’t like, and many that I have loved. My wishlist is probably overpopulated by mimosa and mimosa-inflected scents. I can’t get enough of them.

Tonight, after a long day of heat and a stuffy head from our trio of grass, pollen, and mold after a rainstorm, and the pretty daytime shimmer of Jour d’Hermes, I felt ready for something dramatic and mysterious and dramatic for nighttime. This would normally be time for a triple dose of Shalimar soap/perfume/body cream, or some indulgence in my precious vintage Opium, but I wanted to go darker. I am still dipping my toes into niche (besides Serge Lutens, Amouage, and Frédéric Malle, if they even count anymore, since I can obtain them in the local upscale chain stores). I started with Patricia de Nicolai, since I have read the Guide, and also because her elegant perfumes are so very affordable in their smaller bottles, i have also started to explore some of the florals Luckyscent recommendations, which led me to Le Maroc pour Elle (I passionately grow jasmine, and I want to experience all the many perfume interpretations I can find). The same goes for roses and gardenias: I have both in the garden, and I asked the Luckyscent sales staff to help me find some examples that are different from what I can find from designers—some of whom have made some excellent florals, like Donna Karan Gold, Prada’s truly exquisite irises, or the old Carolina Herrera peachy rose/tuberose, or Ungaro’s magnificent Diva (lilies—another gardening passion!—and flowers i’ve mostly only known from my travels, like ylang ylang and orange blossom.

I guess I am now just writing a list of flowers here. I have an excuse: my editor left the building when I poured a glass of Sauvignon Blanc
. I will not rabbit on here, but carry on in a separate thread where I can be on topic and hopefully get some suggestions. I have so many questions for everyone here, so I suppose that would be the place.

Except for this one: how do I post pictures in my thread posts like this one? The photo icon, on the toolbar, and also the link icon, do not work when I try to use them. They say my files are too big, or they simply post a line of text. Can someone show me how? PM me if you don’t want to occupy even more space here off topic.

Kind of wish we have that kind of weather in California. Sadly it's just more and more warm weather.

I own 1861 Renaissance, which is a nice citrusy mint scent. Excellent for the summer.

As for Richwood, it's a woodier version to Chanel's Coromandel.

Xerjoff is certainly standing out. I want to try 1861 too.

    I'll try Richwood tomorrow.

Got bored tonight and tried Jorum Studio Medullary-Ray. I actually coughed when I inhaled, it is strong. It reminds me of my beloved Eau d'Italie Bois d'Ombrie for some reason.

    Night everyone!
