Jon, that picture has me longing for fall. Here it’s the steambath of summer, but I am counting the days until we head out to the Atlantic coast and that cool, fresh air on Monday. Meanwhile today’s excitement is the farmer’s market, where I was promised last week that today the black raspberries would arrive. They have such a wonderful delicate flavour, but very few farmers offer them.

Delighted to see our JR hit his 28k milestone! No filler or fluff from this guy; your posts are always helpful and/or enlightening. I can't wait for 28,000 more! And, you smell fantastic as ever today!

I'm in Nicolai's Violette in Love (which auto-correct wants very badly to change to Gilette in Love, so dumb for a so-called "smart" tablet). Hope everyone has a good day!

Quick check-in to say the so-called "chronic kidney disease" thing was a false reading. I'm absolutely fine. There's a long, convoluted version of this story, but basically: Due to my uncommonly heavy physical labor, my above-average muscle mass, and the timing of the earlier blood test, my circulating creatinine registered as 1.2 (bad). This week I rested two days before my blood test (as bodybuilders are advised to do) and scored .71 which is normal for a normal woman, and really good for a muscular senior woman. When the urologist looked at my medical history, which is pretty much absent of problems, he seemed shocked, “You've been very healthy!” (Well, yeah, until you guys scared the life out of me with your generic data interpretation.)

Since I'm already in the medical pipeline, I've got a CT scan coming, but my worry bubble has burst and I've got my brain back so I can return to thinking about perfume, Basenotes, and so much more!

Thank you for the thoughts and words, my dears. You're my favorite peeps!

Oh, dear Quarry, so happy to hear this! Besos.

SOTD is L'Heure Bleue, not normally a daytime scent for me, but it seemed to match the Brahms I was practicing this morning. I overapplied a bit and felt a link to EldO Rien. Of all things I was perfume shopping in Paris five years ago today.

Here are some moments from that day (yes, I was there shortly after Charlie Hebdo):

Q, that's fantastic news, so happy for you!

l finished all my cleaning this morning & started sorting out some stuff for the charity shop now that they're open, but (as predicted) the sun came out, so l repaired to the sunlounger for the afternoon.

Now showered & wearing OSA for this evening, from my decant. lt's just over a year since l last wore this & l can't imagine why, as it's so beautiful! Also, l think there's been some evaporation. l must wear this more often.
