Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Good morning all !. Not looking forward to the stifling heat and humidity but it is only for today so I'll just grin and bear it . I'm now starting a period of leave and won't be back at work until a week on Tuesday so suffering in the office won't be an issue this time .

Largely devoid of options for today's synch so resolved the situation by delving into Jenny's wardrobe. SotD is Annick Goutal - Songes.

N.CAL hope you found the Bal A Versailles experience to be a rewarding one. The vintage parfum in particular is monumental stuff

Fabulous Friday, everyone! Looking forward to a margarita (rocks, not frozen) at wine o'clock today...

As now a sage, half-year-long owner of an older-model smartphone, I confess full infatuation. Almost never use it as a phone. I don't text message. But as a podcast player, it's my constant companion.

I need a sunlounger like teardrop's. I thought I might buy an outdoor chaise for my upcoming recuper-cation (heal-cation?), but the stores are sold out, and I don't want to choose one based on an online photo. For now, I love lying on a towel under our spreading hackberry trees ... while listening to podcasts, of course.

Good time of year to remember both tropical florals and kindly Kiliwia herself. Le Labo Lys 41 is my current go-to in this category. Happily, it's un-tropically cool here for end of July.

Syncing in Ormonde Jayne Tiare, the only tropical floral I know that doesn't have too much va-va-voom for the summer heat.

My weather app said it was 97F/36F in London today! I didn't think it ever got that hot anywhere in the UK.

I'm wearing Chanel Gabrielle. It is comprised of numerous florals and I suspect one if them might be a tropical. Greetings to Kiliwia on her BN Sync Day.

Cook.bot, l still have my old Nokia if that's any consolation. l'm thinking l might need to join the 21st century soon, though.

lt's been a lovely day in the garden but it's clouded over now, extremely humid & it feels like we're due a thunderstorm.

Continuing to synch in the beautiful ylang ylang that is OSA this evening.

    Hello and best to all—

We are actually enjoying a reprieve, from the heat here, with shade and a few afternoon showers, maybe, after a storm rolled through last night. I believe the high will be around 90. I can’t believe it’s 97 degrees in England. I don’t remember, ever, seeing a single ceiling fan there, and I know air conditioning is a rarity. Everyone must be melting.

Loving the tropical synch today—such a lovely way to celebrate, especially in high summer. I am joining in (happy accident) with a first try of Aqua Allegoria Lys Soliela. Lilies, Ylang, Tuberose, and a full-fat, very Guerlain, musk. Something also feels icy, maybe the tuberose, which sometimes smells like camphor. I feel warm and cold at the same time. Metaphysical, and very interesting work, more than I expected from Thierry Wasser and the AA series. I have a lot of lilies in the collection already, so I am not sure I need more than the big decant I recently purchased. I really want to explore more of the Aqua Allegorias.

Jon and teardrop, I hope the weather improves for you soon! Ugh!

We, too, are enjoying a reprieve. While it's very humid in the morning and at night, afternoons and evenings have been much less humid, and temps have dropped to the low 80s.

I'm feeling remarkably unmotivated today. I just can't bring myself to do anything productive, work-wise. Maybe a quick walk would help.

Sunnyfunny, I love your new avatar! It's hard to find any kind of emotional rhythm right now. I empathize and hope you find (or recover) yours soon.

I'm going to make an all-day synch in tropical florals. I'm starting with Agonist Vanilla Marble, which is all tiare, fig, and vanilla. Lovely.

Vanilla Marble Notes: Vanilla Infusion, Persian Almond, Tiare Flower, Tropical Orchid, White Fig, Oriental Amber, Indonesian Patchouli, Australian Sandalwood, Madagascar Vanilla, Siam Benzoin, Tonka Bean
