I got to sample this the same day of the ill-fated 212 sampling at
the Sephora in Downtown Disney in Orange County. :)
I rather liked it, and I had hoped my mom would like it -- we were
there to get her something for her birthday -- but she didn't care
for it. Upon seeing the bottle and smelling the fragrance, I was
again reminded heavily of "Black Orchid" like I was when I first
smelled the Lolita Lempicka stuff.
I'm a comic book nut, and one of my favorite graphic novels toout in the past several years is "Black Orchid." It was an adult-
oriented "reimagination" of a rather minor and little-knownfemale superhero, written by Neil Gaiman. Black Orchid is aof human and orchid with the ability to control minds by use of
pheromones. When the original Orchid is killed during aninvestigation, a new Orchid awakens in the lab of her creator and
finds herself the target of an industrialist (namely, Lex Luthorthe "Superman" comics) who wants to harness her powers for his own
use. It's a pretty good read, and the fully-painted artwork is
gorgeous...lots of rich colors and lush detail.
There was later an ongoing series where the Orchid encountered aenemy named Black Annis who left a telltale scent of aniseseed
everywhere she went.
Scentaholics might find "Black Orchid" enjoyable. Check it out
sometime! ;-)
