Sister Y's Fragrance Wardrobe

Please do not judge me because I own DKNY Be Delicious. I can explain. I received a gift certificate to J.C. Penny (really) for Christmas, courtesy of my employer, who apparently did not mean it as an insult. Turns out there are Sephoras in some J.C. Penny stores, and I figured I could find some unobjectionable perfume at a Sephora. I learned a really important lesson: only buy perfume after you've worn it all day, all by itself. Trying on perfume in the mall is (a) miserable, because you're in the mall, and (b) futile, because you can only smell the bloody top notes, and also you only have so much skin to test on. DKNY Be Delicious has a misleadingly nice apple top note, so I bought it to get the miserable experience over with. When I washed all the other stuff off me and wore Be Delicious for more than 5 minutes, I realized my horrible mistake.

Second lesson learned: women's perfume sucks!

I also own lots of perfumes that aren't listed on Basenotes yet, like Cristiano Fissore Cashmere for Men and a bunch of the CB I Hate Perfume single note accords. And I make my own. Right now I'm working on a single-tree enfleurage from the orange tree in my yard (flowers, peel, leaves). I was working on one from our grapefruit tree, but it was cancelled due to mold.
