I thought it would be good - both for myself and others - to list what each star rating means so I can be consistent in my ratings and be useful to others, as well as to myself. I'm still early in my perfume education, but I've the reached the point where I am no longer dismissing perfumes immediately but giving them time to let them develop, and am eagerly sniffing even drugstore standby's - analyzing without judging.
So far, my favorite notes include, Bergamot, lavender, rose, iris, sandalwood, vanilla, violet, patchouli, vetiver, orange/orange blossom, musk, amber, cedar, woody notes, litchi, jasmine
Notes I know I'm not crazy about: Freesia, peony, "white" scents, candied scents- especially fruity candied scents, and sour scents - fruit scents gone wrong.
Ratings:
***** = Wonderful scent, classic, highly recommended to others and will always try to have some on hand.
**** = Personal favorite, also recommended and will likely purchase again.
*** = Nice scent. Not a favorite, but I wear it often enough. Probably won't purchase again.
** = Passable. Only okay. OR I don't/can't wear it but my bathroom smells nice.
* = Kind of Awful. Why does this exist again?
