Reviews of Zagara / Orange Blossom

Very nice citrusy floral based on the accord of neroli and lime-bergamot with a touch of greens and light flowers. The orangy taste is initially intense, sour and deep while tends to morph in something lighter and pleasant with time. Each  element in here is balanced and dry in the way this is a clever summer evocative juice of the sunny farms full of humming bugs under the sun. Joyful, evocative and subtle. The longevity effectively is not at top.

Nice orange blossom while it lasts, which is not long.

Zagara is from what I expected given its former reviews. SMN purports itself to make classic and traditional fragrances. Some of them such as SMN's signature scent supposedly made for Catherine di Medici is a good quality cologne in the traditional scent. Zagara opens with a blast of orange blossom and neroli that quickly turns synthetic and far too indolic for my tastes. Far too fresh and far too much of a designer fragrance to be considered a classic. CS Neroli and even Jo Malone Orange Blossom are much better choices.

Another one of my favorite orange blossom frags. Lovely and refreshing, bright sparkling with lots of citrus zest. Unfortunately it is not long lasting...just keep splashin' it on!

On me, this is THE perfect orange blossom scent; floral, more green than sweet; a bit of a citrus note (which is most evident when first applied) adds some clean sharpness to the background, but the orange blossom stays firmly in the foreground, and both a slight bitterness and the characteristic sweetness evolve gently over the day; by night, my skin smells simply as though I've been out in the sun all day.

When I tried this, I braced myself for a serious disappointment, because most of the neroli scents I've tried have been insipid and cloying, but this took my breath away; it evoked everything that was best about summer, when I was growing up in Florence. The scent is transparently light and discreet, but lasts very well. This is pure sunlight on an orange grove, on a quiet Sunday morning in late May.

It’s refreshing. The opening citrus, an orangey-lemony accord, has a measure of dissonance in it that isn’t terrible and doesn’t last long, I would call it more sharp than bitter, but that’s only semantics. The dissonance is gone quickly, and the accord becomes quite citrus sweet—like syrupy lemon/orangeade. There it stays—unchanging—until it dies an extremely premature death. R.I.P., Zagara.
