This is for a review of the pure parfum.
Masumi is a lovely rose. As Barbara Herman notes, it begins with a tart tea rose, then morphs into a soapy rose with subtle green florals and light fruity notes. It reminded her of "smelling florals on a hot summer's day's twilight."
The subtle use of the Coriander and Tarragon give a firm base for the rose to luxuriate in and the Musk, Labdanum, Benzoin and Amber provide a warm container for these three to expand into.
It is quite sophisticated for this bygone era of the Coty saga, so I half expected it to smell cheaply, but it doesn't. It is surprisingly adult and just right for a mature romantic woman. Worth seeking out.
Top notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, Coriander, Tarragon
Heart notes: Muguet, Rose de Mai, Jasmine, Orris, Carnation, Lily, Lilac
Base notes: Vetiver, Oakmoss, Musk, Labdanum, Benzoin, Amber
