Reviews of Altamir

Pretty good! A warm, glowing-orange amber that reminds me of Palomo Picasso Minotaur and Maison Francis Kurkdjian A.P.O.M. This one is a bit sweeter, but it's still nice. Overall, it's a sweet amber-oriental with notable jasmine and orange blossom notes. Warm tonka in the base gives it a cozy, sensual feel. I get very good performance with it, strong projection and solid longevity. While I've smelled a few scents like this before, Altamir is competent in its own right and for about $20 it's a good deal. Worth looking into if you like the idea of a warm, orange amber oriental for men.

The color of the juice couldn't depict the way this smells any better. It's a bright, orange blossom-golden amber. Clean, warm and comforting. It's quite sweet and floral at times to where it almost can come off unisex but the scent is grounded in patchouli, woods and musk, so it feels plenty manly for me.

Decent performance. It's not like some other Lapidus scents I've tried that were very strong but this performs well enough.

This one is really interesting....

Iím getting a very nice Gaultier2 and Gaultier Fleur du Male mixture that stays close to the body. Soft silage with medium projection, but with disappointing longevity. SSS Avon vibe after 15 minutes that lasts until base notes arrive.

Amber, tonka bean and orange blossom notes dominate. The underlaying sandalwood note is very calming and adds a nice depth.

Very warm and enjoyable especially for under $20.00 USD. Nice heavy bottle w/fantastic accurate spraying nozzle!

If youíre a Jean Paul Gaultier Fan then you should like this one!

This is a powerful cologne with good sillage and longevity. An interesting blend of sweetness and indian spices; by all aspects I should like it but just like with Lapidusí Black Soul, Iím not a huge fan of it.

Ultra sweet, long lasting and annoying. Will make women recoil in horror as the smell of their grandmothers confuses them in erotic situations.

Buy if you think Gaultier fragrances are just not sweet enough and are a bit too sophisticated. You might like it if you'd enjoy a mix of Le Male and Fleur du Male.

Quality is fine considering the very cheap price.

Sweet and floral, but it manages to retain a masculine feel to it. Altamir has a non-annoying synthetic feel to it and itís not badly put together. Iím not sure which ingredient makes for the strong sweetness of the fragrance Ė the pyramid lists musk and amber, but I donít smell amber until the base, (and I never smell any musk from it). Of the florals, the orange blossom seems to dominate and its synthetic tinge just may be responsible for the early sweetness. The base is a bit too nondescriptÖ itís quite difficult for me to pick out the individual notes or even identify their categories... The pyramid lists a lot of woods. Itís a conglomerate woodiness from which I canít identify any individual wood notes. Thereís a presence of amber in the base, and it remains as non-annoyingly synthetically sweet as the earlier levels.

Altamir is a pleasant fragrance Ė nothing great, but itís much, much better than its low cost would suggest.
